I finally got a re-sized image that did not look bad.

There were six that visited the area during the full moon, 3 nights in a row. And they all visited my place as though it was a safe haven.

Probably because I did not cut the lawn all Summer and there was plenty of the wild stuff they like to feed on. I got some good video before the rest of the neighbors discovered they were visiting. The fact they were here in such number means the mountains got lots of snow, the plains were covered too, and at least two or three feet deep too. I was watchful from inside, because when that many deer show up there main predator is not far behind.

I live way out in the boon-docks, and I often times see wildlife come very close to my house. Including a situation similar to the one you described, I've seen Turkeys, and Coyotes as well. Often enough, that it's lost some of it's attraction to me, I'm sorry to say.

Nice.

There are lots of deer around where I live. I actually recently almost ran into a male deer (literally!) in a dark alleyway. Totally not something you want to see in a narrow dark alley at night. It was like 2 meters away from, it just emerged from behind a fence. We both stood there almost motionless for a bit, then it walked off the other way and went across the street. Yep, deer...

Cute. About the biggest animal I get in my garden is next doors cat, who "plays" with the frogs in the pond. Not sure the frogs enjoy it. I live in a fair sized village in the countryside, so lots of wildlife if I walk for five minutes in any direction, but not so much near the house. And I too favour the wild and wooly look for my garden, I hate gardens where everything is regimented and pruned, I want nature in my back yard, not Alan Titchmarsh's best handiwork!

All are deer where killed by coyotes, so much for safe haven.

They used to be around are area all the time.

Note there is deer all over are city, so much so that it can be dangerous at night driving on certain roads.

I prefer nature too, as long as I am not on the menu at dinner time.

Montanan's have had to repopulate the area with Wolves since they are the Buffalo's most prominent predator. Cattle ranchers, and Milk Cow dairies don't like it much, but it's either that the Buffalo have their population reduced by natural causes, or some disease that Buffalo can carry tends to sicken cattle on the open ranges. When a huge herd of huge Buffalo, (and I mean a Buffalo is Huge compared to a cow) wander out of the National Parks, and in, where it is open range, their old stomping grounds, and cattlemen only have seasonal grazing passes there, things get a bit dicey between Fish, Wildlife, and Park's Ranger's, local Lawmen, and cattlemen still today.

how beautiful :)

We have a group of deer that hang out in the quarry on the other side of town. There's deer everywhere here anyways, it's Wisconsin :P Gotta be careful on the highways early in the morning here.
