Problem Loading Mod Items

So I'm gonna sound kind of dumb LoL

I've been downloading different mods on this site... such as the Aurora Blade and the Sexy Ghost Armor. And while I know I should probably ask the creators these questions, I did notice it's been a while since anyone had commented on either of these.

But! My problem is in loading the files. All the files i've extracted are .7z files and that's fine, I have the extractor for them. When I put the files in the data folder for Oblivion and load the game, I of course select the new data pack and start the game.

I go to see if the items are available to me and when I get to where they are supposed to be and there is nothing but a big yellow box.

Now I'm confused as to why these don't work when I've installed the Horse Armor pack and it worked just fine. I noticed that the file types are different, is there some step I'm missing or do I need to download a primary mesh for these things since they may not come with the file downloads?

I'm just a little lost, could someone help me out please?

make sure you put all the files And in the exact folder structure. I mean, if the mod has sufolders they must be copied there and not just their files into the data folder. I assume the mod is packed so the esp go to the data folder directly and a bunch more folders like /textures, /sound, etc are there.

A few mods may need to have parts selected and not all can be put together (you may need to chose which ones are to be).

If the mod has a data folder, it's meant to be extracted to the game's root folder and not directly into the /data. You must not have another /data inside the /data, this is a common mistake.

The yellow things indicates the mesh and texture files are missing or misplaced.

Resuming:

For most mods, the simplest way is just extract the whole 7z content, as they are, directly inside the /data.

If you can see a /data inside the 7z, extract the whole thing inside the game's main directory (not inside the /data)

READ the documentation if the mod needs special installation procedures.

One last case is if the mod relies on contents from a previous, like resources packs. In this case, that resources pack Must be Installed too.

Agreed. I had some issues initially where the "official" expansions and plug-ins worked fine, they were self extracting files though. When I first started trying to add mods, they SEEMED to install properly, but for armors, they would just make my body invisible. It turned out my stupid Windows was letting me think the unzipping was working properly, but wasn't bothering to let me know the installation hade not been successful. Apparently the official self extracting files are able to work around that, but not most mods.

And if your the modder, put any special installation instructions in the description box so the users don't unzip the file in /data to find out they needed to put it in /Oblivion or whatever.
