Lanceor
I think it would be a helpful feature for each file to have a Frequently Asked Questions section. The uploader can determine what gets shown there. Advantages: Users can quickly find answers to common questions without wading through a lot of posts and uploaders can spend less time answering repeated questions. Simple version - Allow the upload of an FAQ text file, just like how ReadMe's are currently implemented. Advanced version - Questions and answers are stored in a database. The top X most commonly asked questions (as selected by the uploader) are displayed beside or below the "Add a comment" box. Users can also view the entire list of frequently asked questions of course. Ultra advanced version: Questions displayed next to the "Add a comment" box are dynamically selected based on key words being typed. I hope this idea has merit. :)
SavageArtistry
Something like that is already available in the Discussion tabs on files. Better Cities has its own FAQ thread for example. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16513 http://i52.tinypic.com/2zfvnee.jpg
Lanceor
The discussion tab would be great for an FAQ spot. It seems under-utilised at the moment and to be honest, I think Bananasplit is the first person that I've seen do something useful with it. Perhaps relabelling it to Discussion/FAQ's or similar would promote its usage?
