All interesting theories. Of course, it could be some completely different substance altogether since we're talking about a fantasy setting. Granted, there are a lot of real world metals and materials represented in Oblivion, but then we have mithril too...which I don't think exists in the real world (I could be wrong though).

Mithril is not real :D no...

 

It's supposed to be some form of super-silver, and originates from, I guess we all know it, ... LOTR!

Oh, that's right...it's some form of elvish super light but super durable silver. I noticed it's very low weight in Oblivion as well. I was glad they referenced it as an armor in Oblivion, even if I don't ever use it.

Indeed they are. If you ask me, that's the first place they went wrong.... Dwarves are not elves :wallbash:

 

Make an elven race, ok....

Make it a delving-kind underground race, ok....

 

But that does not make them Dwarves :confused: They're not even small and bearded :D

But hey, that could just be me...
