Considering that ppl are still playing/modding Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, I assume almost nothing will change.

Pretty sure it'll work like this:

1. Everybody who has ever played Fallout or New Vegas will absolutely buy this from Steam and play it

2. The hardcore Fallout crew will keep going after 3-5 months, adding mods and whatnot

3. The Skyrim crew will come back after finishing the game and it'll be fun because there will be 3-5 months of new mods

4. Like Dante says some will play both simultaneously (which is kind of weird but ok)

5. The serial gamers will play Fallout and move on in a month, just like they did with Skyrim, Diablo, etc etc

I fall in camp 3. I'll play Fallout on day 1, then leave after a few months and play Skyrim for a while. But then check in again after a year because I'll bet Nexus will have some sick Fallout mods and stability patches by then.

People who have a ton of self-control can wait until a year after release when all the stability patches exist and the body types/skin textures/HDT physics engine is all downloadable from Nexus.

I suppose it all depends on what Fallout '4' will be. If its online I'll properly just ignore it(I haven't played ESO for ages). And if there will be, for lack of a better term, a GECK for FO4. And if it's free!

Not to (re)open a can of priced worms, but my first biggest fear is that FO4 will follow the trend and become either another MMO or a co-op where half of the game can only be completed with someone else.

The second is - dare I say it? - the implementation of paid mods. Before a sizable moding community is established and hundreds of sites with thousands of free mods is in place, the tools to create said mods will be priced and licenced to only allow mods to be uploaded to the Steam Workshop. There, I've had my say in this matter.

As to what I'll do to Skyrim: Regardless as to what happens with FO4 I'll still play and download mods just as I have.

I fall into the "I'll get it when the 'Complete Edition' is on sale" after all the updates and DLCs are out. And I'll secretly hope AFKGames will do a UFO4P.

Yes,Bethesda Games are only a option to buy -for me at least- when they are a few months old
