Aryeonos
I've heard about a Mod that gives you a huge reach, did you accidently download that by any chance..?I wish the solution were that simple but no I don't believe I have. Unless it was somehow bundled in with another mod but I highly doubt that. I tried restoring the original oblivion settings but I'm still running into the blue screen of blindness. This thread seems to be longer than my other thread so I'll just keep posting here to fix either issue... Aryeonos
Okay, so I reinstalled oblivion, cool. I only have one disk that I can find at the moment, so no Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine yet, I got over it. I reinstalled wrye bash, I've got all the wrye python files that came in the wrye python installer, not sure if I was supposed to do that; but I figured if they were all together in one installer they wouldn't conflict. But wryebash will not launch still. I'm not sure why, and I can't remember what pluggy is for but after I uninstalled the /mygames/oblivion/saves folder was still there with everything in tact, so I'm not sure if that is creating a conflict. My reach is back to what I think is normal (a little over a meter, longer than my arms are but I think that's what it should be). And I think the lights are fixed... Now I go back to the long drawn out process of reinstalling all of my mods (or at least the good ones I remember.) But wryebash will not launch still. I'm not sure why, Make sure there is no pidfile.tmp in your \Oblivion\mopy\ folder. It not, then follow these instructions: Installing Wrye Bash by Smooth613: You need to install v287 then 290 as certain files needed by 290 are in previous archives. Upon reinstalltion you need to ensure you properly install Wrye Bash and the Python Libraries. Proper procedure is as follows. * Go to Control Panel and remove anything with the word Python in it. * Next, uninstall Wrye Bash and delete the Mopy folder. If you used the installer version you should have an uninstaller as well. * After you have removed everything related to Python and Wrye Bash it's time to reinstall, properly. * Install WryePython03a from the Wrye Bash page here on TESNexus * Install Wrye Bash 275 from the Self-Installer * Update to Wrye Bash 287 by overwriting the Oblivion\Mopy folder. * Finally, Update to Wrye Bash 290 by again overwriting the Mopy folder. * Go to your Oblivion Mopy folder and create a shortcut for Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw and send to desktop. * You're done! Double click the shortcut and Wrye Bash should launch and you're good to go. Wrye Bash v291 will be released as a full Self-Installer version and will eliminate many of the above steps. It's currently in BETA and it's working very well, I've had virtually no problems with v291. The full release to the public should happen in the near future so keep your eyes open for it. The Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide for Newbies is also and excellent way to get your hands dirty with Wrye Bash. Check it out! If Wrye Bash fails to start or you are still having issues, you need to post the bug dump information here or in the Official Thread @ BethSoft for someone to look over. Good luck! Daledge
So do you think it's worth all the trouble of re-installing etc.?
Aryeonos
So do you think it's worth all the trouble of re-installing etc.? If you're referring to oblivion itself... Ugh I've gone through so much sh*#@ like loosing my main profile, running into constant visible glitches, save corruption, it's like a rapidly decomposing organism. Everything is failing, so there isn't much to do but start from the beginning again, I've spent so many months trying to figure out the save corruption problem, and mod compatibility, eventually I just left oblivion on its own around october, right when I got the new fallout game (Which is boring as hell, and pales in comparison to FO3. But that should be expected from Chris Avelone). So a couple months latter the raw emotions had time to heal over and just around now I'm willing to start again. I've run into the same problems with the sims 2, losing countless hundreds of hours of work isn't anything new, so I suppose being used to it should have helped me get over it. With oblivion it's just one person you've worked on, and you actually get the feeling you worked hard to get where you are, and you really do have to practice and work hard. So it took me a few months to get over it, but I'm still somewhat reluctant and in the end I'd rather fix the problem and get on with it, but I don't like living in the constant fear that the next save will be my last and I'll lose it all again so I just moved on. That tutorial is really out of date, I've got the 291 version now and it still won't launch. I installed python-2.6.5, comtypes-0.6.2.win32, psyco-1.6.win32-py2.6, pywin32-214.win32-py2.6, wxPython2.8-win32-ansi-2.8.11.0-py26, I ran into a problem with pywin I think the first time I tried installing it, but when I reinstalled no errors occured. It was something about a file not being on the PYTHONPATH, of course, since I didn't compile these they compiled themselves I wouldn't know where to look. I'm looking through what I think to be the bugdump in the command shell, but other than being denied access to folders that don't exist (Which I'm making as they come up, so far I've made an "Oblivion Mods" Folder inside of bethesda softworkds and three other folders inside of that) There aren't any apparent problems being displayed, so I'm at a loss again. ziitch
For Wrye Bash 291 to work, instead of the shortcut pointing to Wrye Bash Launcher.py you need it to point to DebugLog(Python2.6).bat - I don't know why it's been changed to that but its one way to get it working. That is only for outputting a bugdump. Wrye Bash 291 runs from \Oblivion\Mopy\Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw
ziitch
I've tried that when I upgraded and it never worked, as for the debug it worked once before falling into the same state as the launcher. Maybe it's a compile or 64-bit OS issue but the .bat works nonetheless from what I can tell - There's nothing in the generated log file about errors though... Hickory
Just read the batch file: it is for generating bugdumps. As I said, Wrye Bash 291 starts just the same as any previous version of Wrye Bash.
