Zinthros
So we know that Fallout 4 is going to support mods on Xbone and PS4. We also know MS has paid Bethesda TONS over the years for month-delayed DLC on PC. Does anyone else smell blood here? I wholly intend on forcing script extender usage on any mods I put out for FO4, even the ones that don't actually need it. Such that they'll only run in a PC copy of the game. That is, if consoles don't have a separate hosting service we can just "forget" to post our mods on and "accidentally" report and maybe DMCA anyone who does. Any other authors or will-be authors (finally going to dig in with FO4) planning to lock out console users for whatever reason? Microsoft and Sony have spent millions paying developers to screw us over, and now we have the opportunity to take revenge on a massive scale. MotoSxorpio
So, you've had a look at the game engine already?
Arthmoor
No, why would you want to be vindictive and lock out console users?
RGMage2
After all the abuse and s*** storm against paid modding from PC mod users, it wouldn't surprise me if some modders might like to lock out PC mod users and only make mods for console players if such a thing were possible. DCWillis
I just finished telling someone the same thing. They have screwed with us and are about to make it worse by trying to force Windows users on the same OS. They know Windows 10 is not as powerful as 7 but they want a cross platform setup. Oh, drag the pc down to your level? After Windows 10 comes the subscription model for $10 a month. But hey look at the bright side. They will throttle your PC so you can play against Xbrick one players.

Bethesda and Valve take 70% which leaves 30% for the modder. Paypal takes 30% of that 30% so if some gives you a dollar you end up with nothing. Vagrant0
Let's just not... Getting people worked up and paranoid doesn't help anyone and there simply isn't enough information out there to make this whole mess a valid discussion. Nothing confirmed mentions 3rd party mods or mod integration through an open service. More to the point, Microsoft and Sony wouldn't be stupid enough to start hosting mods on their servers without explicit author consent and probably some degree of screening for mod content... Given the amount of money lost and customer outrage over the whole paid mods fiasco, a repeat is not likely to happen... Especially from a company who is hurting in terms of market share like Microsoft. Wait for facts before stirring up this kind of thing. Thread closed.
