Warning: Tinfoil Hat Time!

I have a theory....

So during the quest "Blood of the Daedra" when you get a daedric artifact for Martin if you give him Sanguines Rose he mentions that he once worshiped Sanguine in his youth which makes sense when he says to you earlier,"I know more than I want to about the seductive powers of daedric magic". Now Sanguine is the daedric prince of debauchery, parties, drinking, sex, etc. when you talk to the worshipers at the Shrine of Sanguine they don't outright say it but they imply that they have orgies and the such. Let's assume Martin in his rebellious youth got around here and there and the bloodline of Tiber Septim didn't die with Martin when summoned the Avatar of Akatosh.

Now Martin never knew he was part of the Septim line till you told him so it would be safe to assume a random child of his wouldn't know of their lineage either. Fast forward 200years to the events of Skyrim and a few generations later and you unknowingly are the latest in the thought long gone Septim Bloodline.

I know it is a pipe dream since you can be a non Imperial but I would love to see as you are trying to take down Alduin you find out about your lineage and considering by 4E200 when Skyrim takes place the Empire is in collapse. Morrowind has been decimated, Black Marsh and Elsweyr have broke off, Skyrim is teetering on leaving, and the Empire is being ruled by the Elder Council and a illegitimate emperor. Would be a great time for a true Septim to return and bring the Empire back from the brink. Can't say I wouldn't mind being heralded as the second coming of Talos.

Yeah, Lord Rugdumph would make a super Emperor!

He would greet visiting dignitaries with: "I am Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak, how may i persist you?"

In a diplomatic meeting, he would say: "Lets us conversate on the matter."

He would urge the guests on a tour of the Imperial City with: "The trolls have been known to vacate these premesis, I am most gracious and truly woeful."

And if you help him with his Imperial quest(!), he may reward you with: "You found my belaboured pig! We is most pleased... eth... ified. I will tell Burz gro-Khash about your indentures! Here, take this. It has been passed down in my family for many generators."

However, he might very well task you with a disturbing quest, such as:

"Hither to me, good varlet. I am resident to encounter the minotaur. Its horny protuberants cause me great conflagrations.

Horrible creatures! Replete with horror and evil. They roam freely eastward of the City. I look forward to you exterminizing them. Go to, bold fighterperson. Precedeth most urgentlike. Anon us most soon again, for sooth."

But would anyone really believe a plot point where it turns out that you're the bastard son of the bastard son of the second bastard son? Really, the entire Septim bloodline is turning out to be bastards.

I'd prefer that over starting as a prisoner in a third game. (I'm counting Morrowind here - never played the first two games).
