What do YOU want to see in the next Elder Scrolls?

Not sure if this has been done, I can't check. We're all excited for the next one, yeah. Skyrim will feature lots of new stuff, and I doubt the list in that features thread is complete. What are your predictions, and your hopes to see in Skyrim?

I personally want more intelligent AI, that reacts more to dead people. I remember that one time, I was bored. So I decided to kill someone in a bar. I like how i killed her and no one reacted, because I was not seen in sneak mode. I hope the AI will go out of their way to at least question the guy in the shadows with the bow and arrow.

I agree with the ai. If npcs find a dead body the guards should come and start questioning people. If someone just dropped dead in MacDonalds you wouldn't just shrug it off because you didn't see a cause.

For me its all about atmosphere. New Vegas, despite being superior in game play, was inferior in feeling, progression and atmosphere compared to FO3... So it was a bit of a let down. I hope they focus on presentation and depth in balance with a good variety of features.

Well they said there is a whole new engine, and I hope it incorporates some of the details you guys said. Definitely death detection, like the FO3 mod. Also if you're camped out on the lam and an arrow thuds into the wall next to you, you......, got another beer and went to bed? Also remedied in FO3 by a mod though, so definitely possible to have impact detection. They've already said archery is more powerful, and I hope they do a good job with it.From the shadows I peg you in the eye from 10 feet away, and...., it doesn't do enough damage to kill you and instead lodges in your shoulder :wallbash:With an arrow in the head most things should be dead, not just really mad. Also for stealth archery the detection radius should just be completely overhauled. Same with guards. When I shoot you from the bush 100ft away you should start freaking out, not pinpoint my location instantly. Also the guards bummed out my illegal fun.Seeing how fast the guards found me after that perfect stealth kill you'd think I used a chainsaw, not a bow. And maybe like in New Vegas, some kinda opotional hardcore mode, but more advanced. Not just eating, sleeping, and drinking, but also surviving the cold, and diseases that aren't just inconveniences. Also I want their additions(choppin' trees, cooking, etc.) to be really fleshed out. They should be there to use and explore, not just burn downtime. My final wish is limb damage like in FO3.

Werewolves, definitely. Although they already said that if they weren't able to get it in the main game, they'd make an expansion for it.

Maybe a vampire clan?

Pretty much everything I could possible want added to the game, they've already confirmed (like the time doesn't freeze anymore when talking to people, and the new revamped magic system). Hopefully this new game engine will make the game even more mod-able! (like being able to mod in new skills and what not)

EDIT: I do remember one thing. I hope they make the dragon fighting actually feel like your fighting a dragon, and the dragon is fighting you, unlike in past games, where if a creature was giant, and you were going melee, the creature just did an attack animation and you took damage, there really was no physical contact.

Im really excited about the things that have been listed so far to be honest. It seems as though they have taken a look at some of the most popular mods in oblivion and incorporated them into Skyrim. Im really hoping to see a new way of acquiring magic. I really didnt like how it was in Oblivion. Access to spells was far too easy. I would also like to see a leveling system similar to nGCD and Progress. Other than that, it seems that all of my most favorite mods in Oblivion are already being incorporated!

Edit: well it looks like the leveling system I've mentioned is pretty close to what they actually have planned!

what i would love to see is a lot more variation in fighting style, oblivion got tedious after playing for a while. perhaps the ability to switch between fighting styles some more fluent and graceful, some more defensive designed around counter-attacks, styles geared towards single strong killing blows that are harder to land but fatal with misses leaving the attacker exposed, crusader style with sword held above head and downwards attacking strokes etc. each style improving/leveling as you use it with different styles more effective against different enemies and therefore making fights harder or easier depending on your development of that particular style and changing styles mid-fight to catch your opponent off-guard. this i would love to see and of course play!

I'm hoping Bethesda opts for quality over quantity this time. The ES4 environment was great but locations were too similar, it could have used a lot more variety in the voice acting etc. By halfway through the game I didn't want to bother with caves and mines, even the forts and ruins started looking the same. Too many containers and not enough useful things in them. Etc.

Today video games are as much about atmosphere/environment than storyline, even moreso to gamers who specifically look for replay value. With enough randomization one could easily create something with near infinite replay value. I've never understood why developers spend all this time and effort to create these astounding engines and then don't even begin to tap the real power of what they've created. We should have dynamically created locations, cities, even worlds, characters, weapons, items, storylines etc generated at the start of each new game. Scripted storylines and NPCs are last century and don't accomplish anything other than to limit or destroy immersion.

Also the market now dictates that developers gear titles to either adults or children. Straddling the fence is no longer an option and results in both groups being disappointed.

Above all else I hope Bethesda keeps or incorporates ES4's basic file architecture (e.g. BSA Commander is the most fun I've had with a computer in 20+ years).
