WIP Castle Faolan

A realistic castle based heavily off Castle Doune and Game Of Thrones version of Winterfell I'm working on at the moment.. So far I've added 100's of new meshes to the game, some armours, weapons, and 40+ NPCs.

 

Castle Layout

--overall size about 130,000ft2 or 12,077m2 or about 3 acres roughly the size of whiterun i believe.

-Kitchen Keep: composed of a large kitchen with two ovens (I know right mind blown), a serving room, two floor levels for lower class guest, an upper floor for noble guest that opens to the top of the kitchen tower. Contains 5 more exits two leading to the courtyard, one exiting the serving room to the great hall, another exiting to the bards platform in the great hall, and another that exits to the pantry from the kitchens.

-Greathall: contains seating for some 36 npcs on the lower tables and 5 npcs including yourself on the upper dials. And a fireplace big enough to walk into not to mention 18ft tall windows (reinforced with iron bars of course). It also has an exit to the wine and mead stores through a hallway integrated into the wall. A platform for music to be played on the far end of the hall and another platform that enters from the second floor of the keep so you can watch your guest i suppose?

-Keep: Contains a throne room, council chamber/personal armoury, library, a private hall on the second floor for dinners and such that arent held in the great hall, Lords chamber on the 3rd floor, solar on the 4th floor that exits to the top of the keep, and two small childrens rooms (I plan to make an option in game to convert the library or solar into extra bedrooms for children as well.

Current goals (about 75% complete)

-Finish non quest version

-Create actor AI and factions for the 40 or so new npcs in and around the castle

-Create a command system to allow you to control your household guards

-get permission to use a few skyrim 2k textures

-Get all the dynamic lighting to work in game with just in time lighting

-Make a few more furniture pieces and doors

Planned goals for quest version:

-Acquisition of the castle (ruins) through integration into the forsworn quest line, and becoming lord of a substantial part of the reach. (And ally of madanach after all you will need some friends in the area)

-Ability to rebuild the castle from ruins with real time rebuilding progression (making new models so the player can see the castle being rebuilt overtime in an immersive way...and paying a ludicrous amount of gold)

-Wars with imperials or stormcloaks at the reach's borders..depending on which side you chose as an ally with real benefits and consequences. Notice the "ally" part and not joining. This is because I'm planning to have the player reunite many of the forsworn tribes under a common banner through multiple quest lines. And as the forsworn hate both the imperials and stormcloaks they would not serve someone under their heel.

-A marriage option after about midpoint of reuniting the forsworn for political reasons. After all as a lord things are expected of you.

-Integration of a real child (your heir) from this marriage essentially making a series of standalone models through racemenu and AI that will allow the child to grow from a baby into a teen in stages much like a wolf pet mod on the nexus.

-Becoming King of the reach through a series of wars In markarth and abroad. The forsworn will name you king of the reach after you conquer markarth and receive red eagles blessing (in a way making you red eagle reborn)

-Further wars and conquest of parts of highrock and defending the lands you received through your marriage. And general management of your kingdom..dealing with crimes, punishments and so for...there will be beheading and you the player will carry out the sentence not an executioner(I've always wanted to do some beheading in skyrim :pirate:)..or you'll have the ability to hang them it depends on their rank.

-Lots and lots of new dialogue obviously.

-I would also like to make this compatible with live another life when the time comes.

 

-NPCs added to castle area

6 Servents

15 house blades

5 footmen

5 archers

5 mages

Court mage

Blacksmith

Stablemaster

Butcher/hunter

lumberjack (maybe a family?)

some farmers

maybe more.

 

-areas to be added (quest version)

-A small town across from the castle. That will include a farm, grain mill, inn, and mines.

-Another small farm

-expansion to some of the vanilla mines and the town Karthwasten.

-part of high rock which will include some castles, towns and so forth.

 

-Whats needed to this mod to reach fruition

Voice actors, experienced modders and scripters that wish to work with me when the time comes. As by myself this mod will take forever to publish.

 

In case your wondering, no I do not plan to make a black and white good verses bad type of quest It will have betrayal, bribery, and murder. No man is pure good nor pure evil and the one does not wash out the other. You will have to choose your own path and live with the outcome.

Looks nice! I love the new meshes and textures! It really does look like a proper castle.

And thanks for the offer Iceberry, I might be able to find some things you could help with. What types of models are you best at making?

Hmm I have most of the architectural pieces done for the non quest version (I think), but I could definitely use help with creating clutter objects and some of the quest things later on. I'll try to find some pieces you can help with, otherwise if you see something you think might look nice feel free to run it by me and one of us can do it.
