FMPhoenixHawk
Okay, I have this nice new higher end system and Skyrim has started crashing again. I put the WriteMinidumps=1 line into skse.ini and the files are writing, but with no data (Showing as 0K). I tried uploading them to a place that has an online reader and it says the files are un-readable. Have I missed something in the setup of SKSE? And the reason I did this was because random crashes started happening again and I can't tell if it's the mods or not. Also, if this needs to be in a different forum, let me know and I repost it there. Slider6996
Old threat but bumping up hoping someone can answer this as i am having same issue and nothing on the searches provides any info for the fix of crash dmps not being written, or to be more exact, this is what it says in the skse.log Skyrim has crashed. A minidump containing debugging information is being written to D:\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\Crashdumps\2016-03-25_07.25.48.dmp.Unable to write minidump. Been trying to dial in what is crashing but not having no luck on even making a dmp file.

Kimansha
Been there, done that - or still doing it. My SKSE crashdumps are also not logging. I know this is quite late, but have you tried enabling papyrus logging? Most of the community says papyrus logs are useless, but there are times when it's a script that messes up my game and causes CTDs, so I know that they are of some, but maybe limited use. Go to your skyrim.ini file, look for the papyrus section and set: bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1 Once your game crashes, go into your Skyrim folder (not the one in your steam data, the one in My Documents) and there should be a new folder called Logs. Inside you will find your papyrus logs. If the last line of your papyrus log is an error, look for which object is mentioned in the error, there should be an 8 or 9-character ID attached to it. Take the first two characters, open LOOT and search your load order for a mod with a load number with those two characters. If the last few lines of what I said are unintelligible:https://levelskip.com/rpgs/How-to-find-the-cause-of-a-Skyrim-crash-which-mods-caused-it-and-how-to-resolve-it-using-Papyrus-logs-and-Windows-Grep Edited March 8, 2017 by Kimansha
