Slicevicious
Hey guys. I downloaded this http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39495/? Fire Axe and Knock-Knock replacer, but it's not functioning properly in-game. The standard Fire Axe is working properly with the re-texture, but Knock-Knock remains vanilla no matter what I do. I've installed it manually to the correct path: New Vegas>Data>Meshes>Weapons>2handmelee and New Vegas>Data>Textures>Weapons>2handmelee. I've also installed it with the NMM, which doesn't work properly. I've started a new character and used console commands to add the Fire Axe and Knock-Knock to my inventory, and Knock-Knock is untouched, while the Fire Axe uses the re-texture. NMM comes with ArchiveInvalidation now, and my .ini is not read-only. I honestly dunno what's going on, and I would appreciate a helping hand! KimberJ
NMM works fine once you get used to it. I guess you could install the supported version of FOMM an toggle invalidation on an off. There's pinned topics here... You would go an re-read the mod's descriptions to see what you missed. Then I guess you would look inside the mod archive an then look at your data folder to see the assets were installed.
GePalladium
In fomm or nmm, just unactive/reactive the archive invalidation.
Slicevicious
I am aware that NMM works fine, I had it installed for a while and it was working. Knock-Knock had the retexture working properly, and one day it just wasn't. It's back to using the nasty vanilla silver and black texture. I stated in my first post that I have de-activated and re-activated it numerous times, as well as installing it manually, to no avail. I have also tried de-activating and re-activating Arching Invalidation, which did nothing to help. @KimberJ I am very well used to NMM, having used it for a long time in various games such as Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and New Vegas. This is the first time a texture replacer hasn't worked for me, regardless of NMM or Manual installation. @GePalladium I have already tried that. DaemonGrin
Just want to check something because of 2 words you used I want to clarify. you said "this" and "replacer" instead of these and replacers. Just want to make sure you downloaded both files?
M48A5
After you added the new textures, did you toggle Archive Invalidation?
Slicevicious
@DaemonGrin Sorry for the confusion, yes I have them both. @M48A5 I have, but it didn't work
DaemonGrin
Might try resizing the texture if you can. If everything else you've tried hasn't worked think outside the box. Make both dds 1024 x 1024 and give that a go. Good luck,Geoff
