curim2
I know its kinda early for this. But when Fallout 4 comes out someone should re create the entire skyrim game in a total conversion. its basically the same engine so it doesn't seem that hard to do. and maybe add some of the features added in some mods like frostfall, realistic needs and stuff like that. (and we can use fallouts new building system to our advantage.)

curim2
well yes its hard but it is possible. their is just 1 limiting factor the the project: Time.
FrankFamily
Which happens to be most important factor... by far, specially when you realise the amount of time it would take because i think you don't. Tony the Wookie
A minimum of 3 years if you had several dozen people working on it... I could build a pyramid with a spoon if that amount of time existed.

bben46
its basically the same engineNot really. If that was true, then we could have horses in New Vegas, after all it's 'basically the same engine' as Oblivion. They make changes in the engine for each game to optimize it. Which means it is no longer the same engine, even though both are based on the same engine - An F1 race car and Toyota sedan are based on the same concept, but you could not convert one to the other without a lot of difficult changes that would make it no longer the same thing at all. Some parts of the base engine are removed, and some parts are specially written just for the specific game. I wish they really were the same as that would make changing from modding Oblivion to modding Skyrim so much easier. But, those changes do allow some new features for each game also.
tx12001
U do realize it uses the exact same engine as Skyrim right only it is tweaked for fallout and not for an ES game. Edited July 20, 2015 by tx12001
Boombro
An isolated world space that houses something small from TES is much mroe do-able that changing baston.
bben46
Each iteration of the engine uses new features that are not available in previous version, removes features that Beth has decided are not required for that specific game and changes some features for whatever reason. So: Yup. it uses the exact same engine, but different. One example is the papyrus script editor that is a complete replacement for the older script system used in previous games. The Old script editor will not work with the newer version. And the new script editor (papyrus) will not work with the older games. There are a lot more things, but this is the most obvious.
