Preformance question

Recommended Posts

So I recently bought a new pc and want to test how it preforms with skyrim modded.

To my suprise it acutally did give my pc a run for it's money, only getting 30-40fps outside (50-60fps indoors).

So this got my wondering did I install something wrong or is this just a "normal" result for my specs with these mods.

i don't know if you use MO, but if not you must,

Natural Grass Texture Floor »»»»»»»»»»»»»» redundant with Sfo, Verdant and Vivid

optional landscape textures from Pure Waters»» redundant

Supreme Storms for Climates of Tamriel

True Storms - Thunder and Rain Redone »»»»»»»» better than Supreme storm and do exactly the same, pick one

at first sight i was sure you were using one of K enb, Realvision isn't that hard on hardware, but you won't have 60 fps + outside with all the 4 k even with your setup ( a nice one btwOo) you re using a 4 k screen right?, then remember, the vram come only from 1 card not the both and Enb's doesn't like much Sli/Crossfire, at last lower the resolution a bit.

You have a lot of hi-rez texture mods, along with verdant (mods that add grass can really bog you down). I would try removing that one first and see what happens. If you haven't already, I would also suggest you make sure you have your enb configured properly, here's a guide to help with that. Also, how did you install your enb binaries, wrapper or injector? Some people with SLI setups have had better luck with injector verison.

I use NMM/LOOT is MO better? I just assumed they were about the same.

Yeah I use a 4k screen (not a good one since my acer is being RMA but it does the job)

I installed enb using the wrapper (Pretty sure atleast, I just followed the step by step instructions)

Thanks for that link it reminded me to check the enb ini

don't get it wrong, NMM is really a great tool , MO is more efficient if you are modding a lot, you can chose the texture you want or not, during install for ex. then you also can manage X profile to play with, they are all independant, if you want to test a new mod, overhaul etc.. , it takes 1 min to create a new profile with a Vanilla setup or with all your mods in it and start fresh

Skyrim master file stay always clean and vanilla like.

it's a bit tricky at first then very powerfull when you get use to it.

What is really great with Real vision, is the installer, so it should have check your graphics card then set the exact vram in the .ini.

try to dawnsampling a bit

I don't have a great computer but I found the one thing that will bog down your game in a hurry is a lot of large texture mods.

It doesn't really matter how good your computer or video card is, if you have tons of custom 2k and 4k textures you WILL melt your computer.

The best bang for the buck I ever found was making everything 1K textures and I get 60fps everywhere. For a better computer maybe limit yourself to 2K. I wouldn't think 4K is worth it because the different is just not visible unless you're running a supercomputer.

At this resolution with RealVision you should be getting 10fps more outside. In case you have 4k mountains swap it for 2k and maybe try Verdant 1.6 with 512res textures. For npcs get skin packs with reduced normal map size.

Have you tweaked your enblocal.ini properly? There is additional step for cards with more than 6gb of vram.

Skyrim in 4k - Titan Black Sli

Skyrim in 4k - Titan X Sli

PS: SFO always eats some fps. Hodilton uses only SFO trees in his recent vids.

Hey thanks for all the help turns out the RealVision installer had input the wrong values for my setup after uninstalling/reinstalling everything and manually configing enb I'm getting constant 60fps outside as well (atleast so far)

I was even able to tack on some extra visual goodies :)

Everything I read from you is just so ridiculous that you should really consider to stop posting such nonsense!

I have tons of 2k and 4k textures (26GB!!!) and my PC isn't melted till this day and my PC isn't as good as his. And if you cannot see the difference between a 2k and 4k texture in 1080p I really recommend you visit your eye specialist!

I'm glad you can run such a nice setup without performance loss. I'll have to make a note of your specs so I can achieve this some day when I have the cash for upgrades.
