3WINTERS
With it being said that characters/foes will get more bloody as they get injured further over time, it may push it to an MA15+ ... at least here in Aus. If a game is given an 18+ rating overseas (that won't happen with this game I'm sure) something has to either be removed or the game is refused classification. Sad thing is, even with the slight adjustment, the game still would fit in the AO category in places like the USA. So yeah, from what I've read so far, there may be grounds for at most a Mature Audience 15 and over classification.
hector530
Skyrim wouldn't get a AO in the USA pretty much the only way to get it is if the game shows sexual pentertion
zythezythe
Oblivion was originally released as T+ in the US but now it's M+ because of a locked away breast texture that can be unlocked by either the Construction Set or through console coding. bigedf
What's worse? Some animated characters humping eachother or detailed gore in battles? Well, in the US people are desensitized from the overexposure of violence from the media, so it's no big deal. We just can't allow our children to be exposed to a naked breast, especially a cartoon video game breast .... (those are the worst kind btw), because seeing something like that could destroy their childhood, and we all know that a child's innocence is a precious, precious thing. :ermm: Hitler<Satan<Breast<Cartoon Breast Because God knows the things they sucked on before they could talk are worst than the devil. reiverh
Steam usually put an 18+ symbol on any game of that rating and skyrim does not have one. at least not in UK this might just be because the game is not out yet but probably its a 15/pegi 18. For some reason they have a much stricter policy
natelovesyou
I think it'll be 18. What with all the throat-slitting, combat moves and (possibly) dismemberment. EDIT: Its 15 where I live though. I cant remember what system we use tho, but I know that there's "G, PG, M, MA-15+, and R18"It's pretty common knowledge I thought that dismemberment will not be in the game. Many interviews with guys from Bethesda detail this. In any case, I'm 100% sure this will be rated M. I don't see how it couldn't be since it will be more brutal than Oblivion is. Ghogiel
On the BGS Skyrim forums they changed the rating at the bottom of the forum page from RP to M a few days back. As good a confirmation as you can get that it is going to be M rated. I expect announcement soon.
AxeAlot
It's rated M for mature ,...... I'll try and hook you guys up with a link where I saw it....it was either a PAX video or picture where the M rating was displayed before the Skyrim trailer began at there booth for PAX
CamonnaTong
Yeah even if it is M Minors can still get it. That is Minors that are one year away from being 18. Still Europe has it 18+ In other words Only 18 and up. The ESRB has it M which is 17 and up. Just because it is M doesn't mean minors can get it. I mean I will be 18 this month actually in 16 days but whatever. But I can get Skyrim, I can get Rage as well. The ESRB probably does need to change M to 18 instead of 17 because it confuses a lot of people thinking you have to be 18 or whatever. And if you go to Skyrim pics at flickr it is rated for "MATURE with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, and Use of Alcohol."Still for most websites to access it you need to be 18 even if it is a 17 or older game. It's not odd its more over the law. If a minor sees something there even if they are 17 things could go worse than if you are 18. Still in many cases in the U.S. standard if you are 25 you still don't have every right. (I'm talking about legal rights.)
