Faceshifter
Hello againI am experiencing a weird problem with the terrain editor. I can retexture easily but sometimes I get this straight line (as you can see in the attachment).In-game it looks the same, while I tried several times to complete the road.Anyone has an idea how I can fix this? Lanceor
Each cell can have a maximum of four terrain textures, and when you try to add a fifth, it defaults to one of the first four instead. You could perhaps completely fill the problematic cell with one of its existing textures to remove the other three. Oh, and always use Ctrl Right-Click to select a texture to make sure you're not using two very similar looking ones. ;)
Faceshifter
I know that trick, and even then...So I can't do anything 'bout it? Pity. Then I need to look for some static stair to fill up the spot, bah.
ub3rman123
Go into landscape edit mode, and press I. If you'regetting that error it means all of the slots for a landscape texture in that quad are filled. You'll have to delete one of them to make room for a new one. David Brasher
Yes. Follow ub3rman123's advice. That is much more efficient than painting a whole cell quadrant to eliminate unwanted and unknown textures and then having to go back and repaint it to be similar to how it was before. You can get rid of excess textures by replacing them with one of the other textures that already exists in the cell quadrant.
Faceshifter
Won't it look kinda false?
ub3rman123
What do you mean? A cell can only hold.. 8 landscape textures, I think. It might be using a tiny amount of dirt on one side that's keeping you from painting a new one in. Should look natural if you repaint a bit. Faceshifter
I'll give it a shot ;)
Faceshifter
I thought the grass would look all the same if I deleted a texture, that all the grass in the cell would look the same and it would soo wrong.Turned out quite good, thanks!
