this is gona to cost a bomb ?

I priced out a computer to build myself the final price not including an OS was $1417. Which is half of Tessera's yet will still be able to run Oblivion just fine. True it's still expensive, but much more atainable then his. Though I have no doubt his is probably better, this should still run Oblivion just fine.

If you build your own computer, can you get OEM versions of software?

Guest Tessera
Tessera, if you feel the need to blatantly break flaming rules, then take it to PM. As part of our "zero tolerance policy" we're employing now due to your recent behaviour, this is strike 1. Your next offence will lead to strike 2, and then the next strike 3 and a ban.

Hey, Switch..? Who cares..? You've already seen me yank a diozen or more of my threads from your kiddie board and this is just one more example of WHY that was done: skewed moderating policies.

"Take it to PM's..?" I'll do better than that. I'll post it where you can't squelch it:

Anybody wants me, then they know where to find me. This place is dead to me now. I gave it a second chance... but TESSource has become a total waste of my time. This is just another website trying to sell soap to teenagers. I'll pass.

There you go again, selling soap to teenagers. Couldn't you get the idea that Tessera didn't want any of your soap to begin with? I swear, you and your evil spyware-installing corporate overlords at Dial are pushing this stuff round-the-clock and I'm getting sick and tired of it.

Apropos OEM versions of Windows, the “novice magazine” Ars Technicha has an excellent breakdown of what you're in for. Additionally, you'll find that if you buy some pieces of hardware in retail packaging, they'll come with software included. My mediocre four-year-old CD burner, for instance, had some mediocre four-year-old CD burning software buried within its packaging --- your mileage may vary, of course. However, if you're trying to buy a software library for a self-assembled computer comparable to what a prebuilt dealer would give you, it's worth noting that most of said software is absolute cruft that nobody in their right mind would pay for anyways.

Don't worry, it's not your fault. Just certain members choosing to be immature in your thread. :rolleyes:

Pro build is the best option if you don't have enough experience. I've started doing that myself recently after my last two self-built rigs died in the space of about 18 months... without a warranty that's quite an impact on the old bank account. ^^;

If this is resolved then I'll close this.
