nosisab
you need the modem connected to your provider (if ADSL/Cable) and with DHCP set up so the wi fi router can automatically find the gateway, DNS, etc. If the modem and the router are separated devices, the modem output is plugged into the router's WAN port. This should grant the router's basic setup being enough to configure itself. If it yet doesn't, search the web for specific configuration hints to your specific router. Malchus
Please provide a few details if you can: What is the setup you are using? is it Wall, then Modem, Then a wireless router, ordo you use a combination modem/router? If so, are you using simply the default settings for security etc or have you changed things? Have you checked the "Properties" of the wireless connection to ensure that it is requesting an IP from the DHCP and not assigning one on it's own? If you can provide us with primarily the first bit of information, it will help greatly. Thanks, and sorry this is causing you such a headache.
