westoftherockies
well it was a good game but it gets boring after a short while.
zombierelic
It was fun, but there are only three paths with a little variation between them to follow of which most take you to some of the same places as other two. I'd say independent and fighting both the NCR and Legion was the most fun for me. Most of the side quest were a bit lackluster and felt like a waste of time. The only companion I liked was boon but sadly he cant be a companion if your anti-NCR. Over all to me it wasn't even half what FO3 was which I still play unlike FONV however if they release a expansion pack or a few good DLC's it could be better. ita
How long is a short while? I spent around 45 enjoyable hours on my first playthrough.
Carthean
Yes, it aint as big as fallout 3. Downloaded mods to add more locations and quests which helps though.
Geordge74
I'm new here, so wave :)For me NV is a mixed bag, it's smaller than Fallout 3 and the Strip was kind of a let down, but the game play in NV is way better. I love the companions and the factions.NV feels small size wise, quest wise I really don't know. What I liked about Fallout 3 was the sense of emptiness, a nuclear waste land should feel deserted, although NV wasn't hit that hard.My ideal Fallout game would be a mix of the world of part 3 with the game play of NV really. And a better engine really. It's getting get dated.
simplywayne90
I did get bored with it but I got some newer mods that breathed new life into the game for me. nVamp was definitely the defining factor for me, it made new creatures, and also made A.I smarter plus tons more.A World Of Pain was awesome with all the new areas to explore. Plus now there are tons of new quest mods like War never changes, and PuceMoose's Mods. Project Neveda is a part of nVamp but It's pretty cool too. So yeah I feel bad for console players but Fallout on pc is utterly new for me now.
Gopher
My ideal Fallout game would be a mix of the world of part 3 with the game play of NV really. And a better engine really. It's getting get dated. My sentiments exactly, although to be honest there is not much in the engine that is better. It has the same flaws as the original game and because of the encryption it is actually often harder to overcome them (large memory address, 64hz bug etc). But Vegas does have factions which so far noone has made a FO3 mod for, so that is a plus. And it has something I truly love: Useful speech/barter skills. I absolutely love that. If I had time I would add port those ideas back to FO3. Maybe some other modder will see this and think 'aha' :) Guaranteed FOTM if you do. Everything else in Vegas already exists in Fallout3 as a mod, and usually the mod is better. Weapon mods kits for example.
knovack1
I vote yes and no. FONV, aswell as FO3 both get boring. I Still like FONV more then FO3. A Big thanks goes out to all the Modders out their. They sacrafise many hours of their own lives to make both games worth wild again. There are thousands upon thousands of mods out for both games, that you can download, and play both fallout games all over again, and it will feel like you are playing two totaly different games. Keep up the great work modders, and thanks for changeing our gaming experience all over again. So yes they are both boring from the quest chains from start to finish, But they do not have to be, depending on the mods you download.
