Quad core processor

Recommended Posts

Well, according to my knowledge of it, it's a four core (as opposed to a two core) processor. There isn't really much benefit with today's games as none are built to take advantage of quad core technology, but certainly tomorrow's games will see a speed boost from one of those things. Basically it's only worth buying one (and paying the ludicrous pricetag) if you want to "futureproof" your PC for high spec games 1-2 years down the line.

Does it? I know from what I've read it's definitely built to take full advantage of dual core and "eat them like cornflakes" as PC Gamer put it, but I wasn't aware it had capacity to expand into quad core processors as well...

You're better read up on SupCom than me I think so I'll take your word for it. ^^

Uh... Who told you that?

About every computer person I know. At least it's part of the equation. That's also what they say at the Mac Store.

“The equation?” Since when did an equation come into play? I thought this was about processors!

We are, my bad. :(

1. How does a quad, dual, and regular processor help with gaming?

2. Should I get a quad core, dual, or regular processor for my next gaming computer?

3. What happend to triple core? :P
