CoGDork
I looked over COBL recently and discovered that it had parts that would work with so-called "afterlife" mods. So I looked long and hard... ...and found two, neither of which really interested me. And I don't mean I just looked it up here, I looked EVERYWHERE. There are TWO. Mods concerning what happens after your character goes to the great beyond. And let's face it, if COBL provides for it, there should be more than two mods concerning it, right? So I got to thinking about what my ideal mod would actually be, and it turned out to be more of a quest/adventure/faction kind of idea than anything else. Here's the main idea: 1.) Die. 2.) Depending on your fame/infamy levels, one of three things happen. One, if you have next to no fame/infamy either way, you simply get the load screen. Two, you have high enough fame, you undergo a questline wherein you become an angel/emissary of the divines and return to the world to enforce their will/help others/save the world. Three, you've been a very naughty boy, and somehow impressed whoever represents absolute evil in the world of TES. Come back as a demonic emissary to kill/manipulate/corrupt/destroy, etc. In any case, depending on which side recruits you, you participate in a battle between heaven and hell to control the fate of the world. Nice idea, right? Well unfortunately I suck at modding (though I'm pretty good at writing, so if someone picks it up I'm free to help do the storyline/dialogue) and in fact know only the most basic modding skills. So hopefully, someone will say, "Hey, that's a nice idea!" and make a mod of it.
MrVash
That's a real cool idea! I'd definitely download that mod if it was implemented. I think your appearance should change in whichever route you go (good side or bad side). I wouldn't want to do the same missions done before when I was alive, but want to do it like as an undead. Also have certain powers for an undead.
InuyashaFE
It is a nice idea, unfortunately, lots of the skilled modders are either busy with life, or working on mods already. I don't think this request is gonna last very long.
MidbossVyers
I don't think there is an absolute evil in this game. The closest thing is Sithis, but you do that in the Dark Brotherhood quests.
InuyashaFE
I don't think there is an absolute evil in this game. The closest thing is Sithis, but you do that in the Dark Brotherhood quests. There could be three pathways. 1. Nine2. Deadra3. Sithis It's been established that Sithis isn't a deadra, right?
MidbossVyers
Good, neutral, and evil, you mean?
InuyashaFE
No, they'd go to Sithis if they're a part of the dark brotherhood, one of the daedra if their infamy is above their fame, and the nine if their fame is above their infamy, is what I meant. This overall is a good idea, I'd like to see it made. Edited March 30, 2011 by InuyashaFE
Deleted1848331User
Arg, you people, its DAEDRA, not DEADRA! What do you people not get about the "a" before the "e"?! lol. It happens a lot. Heres some ideas: If you go to the Nine (higher fame than infamy), theres a random chance of going to any of them. Akatosh could be represented in his dragon forme. The others, I have no clue. But they'd be giants while you are on the clouds... It'd be pretty cool, in my mind. If you go to the daedra (higher infamy than fame), then you have a random chance to go to any of the daedric princes/princesses (I think there's one or two; for example, Nocturnal) Plane of Oblivion, maybe. I'd say charred ground with fire everywhere, but imagine the lag :turned: If you have no infamy or fame, or they are equal, you could die and get rescued by some priests, maybe. You know, you lose a random amount of gold, depending on how much (IE 10% maybe [10% of 25000 is 2500.), perhaps the priests cast spells on you to heal you, and you lost some attributes and skills (similar to prison). If you are in the Dark Brotherhood and you fame is lower than your infamy (idea ;D), maybe you go to a place with no light (The Void), and no path, yet you can walk (IE just some plane you can make in Blender or something, make it huge, and UV it to a black texture (1x1 would work even.). Then maybe you hear some ominous voice saying if you want to go back to the mortal world, you must prove yourself by assassinating two targets without being detected, while silenced, and with no gear except what is given to you (Player.RemoveAllItems ChestRefIDToHoldStuff, then you get it back when you go back to the mortal world; ChestRefIDToHoldStuff.RemoveAllItems Player); for example, you could get a chest with Daedric armor and a dagger, and Glass armor and a dagger, and maybe 1 potion of invisibility. Then you could adventure in a set of dungeons to assassinate your target. Probably could only be done around 3-4 times, unless someone makes a lot of dungeons  For all of them, you'd probably lose some stats and skills, and gold (like as described in the neutral) Just some ideas I thought of to throw around. ub3rman123
The major problem with a death overhaul is that the game has nothing to stop a death or catch it. If you die, it's hard-coded to give you that loading screen. Most of the methods used by death mods either don't work all of the time or are very buggy. Deleted1848331User
Player.GetAV >= 10? Then again, I have high health, so it would look like I have none anyway :P Perhaps a way to catch it when the player dies... Like extending the death reload time, then using Player.Resurrect 1 (just resurrect bugs out; needs a 1) and MoveTo(Marker), maybe?
