Guss
What game system do you think is better. I have played a xbox360 but never play or seen any game video or etc... on the PS3 but the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer. I think that the 360 is a good game system but what do you think of them? I know that the 360 has a big power supply, which I think is weird  .1. PS3========favorite game:========Metal Gear Solid 4 2. Xbox360========favorite game:========Gears of WarDeadRising
Peregrine
Option 3: None of the above. Both suck, are horribly overpriced, and are inferior to the PC in every way.

Switch
He doesn't like consoles. ;) Moving this to Other Systems... As for my opinion on the systems... Xbox 360 isn't worth buying (IMO) as it offers cheap thrills at most. FPS games, action games, stuff that has an average lifespan of about 10-20 hours at most (at least for me). There are some games with more depth but they're few and far between. Also most of the decent stuff for Xbox almost always gets released for PC sooner or later, because Microsoft wants your wallet. PS3 looks great, much more my kind of console and the only one I'll bother buying. Decent games with good lifespans that never get ported to PC, so it's actually worth getting. Though their pre-release press and general handling of the situation couldn't have been worse. I will not pay the ridiculous price they're asking. No way, no how. I can't afford it, and still wouldn't buy it on principle if I could. Ridiculous price, especially in the EU where they're charging more than the US (£425 in the UK) and giving us less (no backwards compatibility) and not even the option of a lower end, more affordable version of the machine like you have in the US. Also, aren't you forgetting the Wii? :P Graphically it doesn't stand up to its competitors but it seems to be netting itself a huge following. I'm not one of those followers though... what with the Wiincidents and the general mediocre childish titles it offers (besides a few exceptions such as Zelda), I'm not remotely attracted to it personally. The control scheme for it is original (and Sony really shouldn't have ripped it off) but isn't a big selling point for me. We've had something called "the mouse" for a while now that does almost the same thing. ;)
Mithrandir8
I have played all three newer systems and have to say that I am impressed with all the new features, but not the prices that they ask. The PS3 is by far the best, I was blown away when I played it. However, the costs of life interfere with me ever getting one. $600 won't just magically show up in my wallet and if it did, I would have to spend it on insurance and gas. I own an Xbox 360 but only because I split the cost with my family and we all share it. The games single player modes are all short, but the multiplayer and online features extend the lifetime of all the games by a lot. The Wii is the most fun to play for the first 20 hours, and then it gets repetitive. There are too few games for it and most of them are geared for younger children. If I had to choose all over again, I would choose none of the consoles and get an upgrade for my PC. All the games are more versitile on the computer and they are more fun because they can be tweaked. Maybe after the prices drop and more games come out will a console be worth buying but until then I prefer my PC.
Guss
That is true about the PC Mithrandir8. The wii looks cool but they have very little games that I like for it. Yes, they do want to have your money and the xbox 360 has lots new games that me and my brother like and never played before [DeadRising ;) ]. Unlike the PS3. [Thats what I say. Here is the thing, everyone says something different too.]
Peregrine
I know that they are a lot of money but why do you say the other things about them. Lets see.... 1) Anything a console can do, a PC can do better. Literally, the single advantage a console has is in convenience of social/party gaming, and only because the game itself is irrelevant compared to the people you're playing with. 2) Entire genres don't exist on consoles. Forget playing strategy games, simulations, MMORPGs, FPSs, or any RPG more complicated than Adventures of Og the Barbarian. And even the ones that do have all the complexity, story, and gameplay depth ripped out to appeal to a 10 year old audience. Note that the reverse is NOT true, any game you can play on a console can be done just as well (if not better) on a PC. 3) Mouse and keyboard >>>>>>>> controller. This is NOT open for debate, consoles have absolutely awful control setups. Controllers have zero precision, limited hotkey options, and terrible reaction speed for menus/etc. 4) Exclusive titles hurt gamers as a whole. Only in the console world do we see developers grabbing an interesting game and making it exclusive to their console. Instead of marketing it to the most players possible, the players are held hostage to the marketing department and forced to buy a new console to play their game. 5) Consoles have awful customization options. Look at the countless mods for any PC game, and compare it to what you get as a console player. Get the idea yet?
IamBatosai
Some of those things I don't agree with, the controllers for instance. They come in different shape's and size's, so you can find one that fits your hand. The reaction time and button layouts have never been a problem for me. Plus with consoles you don't have to worry whether or not the game will work. There are also quite a few game's that aren't on pc that are on console, super smash is a sweet game. Plus with consoles you don't have to worry whether or not the game will work. There are also quite a few game's that aren't on pc that are on console, super smash is a sweet game. Are you illiterate? Let me repeat the relevant part: "This is NOT open for debate". It's not about hand fit, it's about the simple fact that a control stick has a much smaller range of motion than a mouse. So you either have poor precision (each degree of movement is a "strong" input) or slow reaction time (each degree of movement is a "light" input). In FPS terms, you either have fast snap turns (the first case), or steady precise aim with a sniper rifle (the second). A mouse does not force this compromise. As for button layouts, this is also not open for debate. A keyboard has more keys available to bind to useful functions. And for more complex FPSs/RPGs, simulations, etc, you NEED those extra keys. And if you think reaction times aren't a problem, try playing a RTS on a console. Notice how long it takes you and your control stick to move the pointer around the screen between the menu, your units, your factory, etc. After throwing it across the room in frustration, get a mouse and do the same thing effortlessly. Finally, I wasn't talking about single games. Obviously there are exclusive titles (since it's a major console marketing strategy as I said in point #4), but I'm talking about entire genres. The inherent limits of a console make entire genres off-limits. The same is not true of a PC, anything game you could make for a console can be designed just as easily for a PC. SSB could just as easily be made for a PC, if the developers felt like it (get some cheap USB controllers, and you won't even be limited to lan/online multiplayer). Guss
There are many advantages and disadvantages of the game consoles. Like my computer, it was the top of the line in 2000, but now it has problems reading the game now days. Unlike the Xbox, PS2, and etc... you just put the game in and play. On the PS2 you can play PS1 games on it but my computer will not play games from the 1995's when I got it. My favorite game back then was the Command and Conquer games :) but I hated my computer then because it couldn't read the cd's.
