smoky0mcpot
What happens is it tries to connect for a couple of minutes then says -This web page is not available ERR_TIMED_OUT this has been happening for two days now and i have tried every solution i can find. The thing is i have my profile on google which links my e-mail and youtube account and other devices like my phone and laptop and those devices and internet explorer on this computer have no problem opening the nexus site but my tower is where the nexus mod manager and skyrim are and it will not connect even if i try and go there by clicking on a mod version in the NMM so i also cannot download mods to NMM.If i use internet explorer i can get to the site no problem but when i try using google chrome it won't load the page no mater how many times i try it gives me the same error. I can access all other websites i try and even the nexus forums but not the mods section for any games ( eg skyrim, fallout new vegas ) I can't figure out why and i am desperate any information or advice. PS I know i haven't been banned because when i access my profile from another device there is no issues every thing is normal.
Surilindur
I have had issues accessing the mods part of the Nexus for a few days. Forums work just fine. I use Firefox myself. Though I have been able to access it every now and then, most of the time I have not been able to use the mods section. So unless both Chrome and Firefox have the same issue, there might be something with the site that is the culprit. Edit: Edited for the sake of politeness. Also, if it works for Oubliette, there is probably something on my and, too. :) Edited September 12, 2015 by PhilippePetain
Oubliette
Sounds like the problem is on your end rather than something the Nexus staff can fix. Perhaps just switch to Firefox or Opera for downloading your mods until you figure out a solution? I use Firefox and have not had any recent issues accessing the mod sites. GroverA125
I'm in the same boat. I discovered that my antivirus appears to be the cause as when disabled everything functions perfectly. Happened about the same time yours did. Spent the last two days trying to fix it. Speaking to Bullguard (my AV provider) to see if they have any ideas. Speaking to Bullguard (my AV provider) to see if they have any ideas.I just tried that and it made no difference and besides if that was the cause my antivirus would also stop me accessing the site on internet explorer and as i said i have no problems with that browser. And yesterday i was able to get on the site a couple of times but on those occasions i could only open 2-3 pages before it timed out again with the message This web page is not available ERR_TIMED_OUT

I'm not good with networking but I guess location plays a role here (I have a pretty crappy connection to begin with, but the timout is out of our hand)Thing is tracert seems to be able to get around the blocking server... Browsers cannot. > I could get around using the extension foxy proxy with a server in the US, agreed it's a temporary solution and far from the best, but it will do for the time being
smoky0mcpot
On google next to the address bar there is an icon for most sites it is usually a - Green padlock - The site's certificate is valid and its identity has been verified by a trusted third party. Blank page icon - Orange exclamation icon The site hasn't provided the browser with a certificate. This is normal for regular HTTP sites because certificates are usually provided only if the site uses SSL. Look in the address bar for the Blank page icon. When i am unable to connect to the nexus i get a red padlock which means - Google Chrome knows there are problems with the site's certificate. Proceed with caution, because someone on your network (like someone sharing your Wi-Fi connection) might be messing with the website. If you disclose any information on the website, the person on the network might be able to read it. Site identity informationThese icons let you know whether or not a site uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates to prove that it's the site it claims it is with Chrome. You can tell if a site is real if it has a valid TLS/SSL certificate. Invalid certificates could mean that someone is trying to tamper with your connection to the site. So i checked the security of my isp and it is secure there are only three devices tied to it - my tower my laptop and my phoneBasically it's telling me it can't verify that the nexus is a secure or valid site. Dark0ne
I have absolutely no idea why this is happening for you. I use Chrome myself and I see nothing like what you describe. Have you got some crazy hardcore security settings set up in Chrome? Are you running the latest version? That's what I see. Blacked out the bookmarks because privacy. smoky0mcpot
Everything was fine until friday and for some reason i have not been able to properly connect to the site since. On rare occasions i can browse 2-3 pages then i get timed out. I have not altered anything in my antivirus since i got it it has the standard setup and i also hadn't touched google's settings but on the weekend after looking at google's troubleshooting pages for a solution i deleted all the cookies then my browser history then when that made no difference i uninstalled and then reinstalled google chrome. That is all i have done google and my antivirus have standard setups.
