I have a GTX 970 and I felt like pushing it to the limit so I used all of the above settings and mod inorder to do so and the results were AMAZING. I could almost smell my graphics card overheating. (not really) but anyways, I had a solid 14'ish FPS in the plains area of Whiterun. The reason I made this post is because I've heard that people's games get really unstable by only changing their Ugridstoload a bit but my game was stable (apart from bad FPS). Not a single CTD or lockup... I used speedmult 1000 + tcl + tgm and ran around to stress test my game but it didn't crash.

I might post some screenshots later today.

You should monitor your ram. As long as you don't fill it up your fine. Problem is the higher ugrid the more you load and the more likly you are to fill it up. In practice you are choosing between filling few cells with what you want or having many cells with less in them. Finding the right balance is an art so if it works for you, run with it :).

I got the same card.. But don't you want to actually play the game? 11fps is like Slow-mo. Also you can change your fan profile through a steam application called EVGA something. Just look for EVGA, you'll be able to up the speed of the fan, thus making your card cooler and keeping it alive for longer (It was a 500$ card for me so Im making this last)

Ok, after some extensive testing I've found that although my game is not crashing, there is a huge problem with enemy AI for some reason. For example, with ugridstoload=11, bandits will be friendly towards my character and they wont attack me at all. I can even "press E" to talk to them. Although they have no dialouge other than the generic "hm?" etc.

So, I think I'll be reverting to ugridstoload 7 again. This was just a little experiment of mine to see what my PC could handle, and it did great (imo) BUT the game ran into a few hickups.

Just thought I would post this information incase anyone ever wants to test ugridstoload=11. If you do, be warned that bandits might not be hostile anymore. :P

Going that high is good for screen shots and video recording its not worth the head ache playing the game that way and running into scripting errors. Until Bethesda starts purposely designing the game around higher ugrids there’s really no good solution to permanently drastically increasing the view distance.
