Yogibir Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Never did voice acting before but it has been something on my mind that I've wanted to try for a while now and I was thinking about starting with a game I love to play and maybe if I get better I can hopefully voice a redguard or a bosmer if someone needs. Not looking for anything too expensive but I want to get a mic that can help me record some lines with good quality like the npcs from interesting npcs mod and not too staticy like the khajit from moonpath to elsweyer mod. Can anyone help me out? Edited October 11, 2015 by brownie187

iXenite Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Gopher doesn't do any voice acting (that I'm aware of), but his mic is superb. He uses the Rode Podcaster. Rode Podcaster:http://www.amazon.com/Rode-Podcaster-USB-Dynamic-Microphone/dp/B000JM46FY Example of Rode Podcaster audio quality:
Yogibir Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys really appreciate the help! Right now I'm just using my phone to record voice lines, trying to work on my pitch a little more before I choose to shell out some money for a mic. Edit: I looked up some of the mics and I do think the gopher one is nice but was wondering if I should either get a usb mic or a wired one? I heard usb mics aren't as good in quality, any perks to having them? A video I watched said it's more preferable to have a wired mic and audio interface than a usb mic. However with a usb mic I take it I won't need to buy a seperate interface right? Sorry not very educated in the technical aspect of things. Edited October 13, 2015 by brownie187
Mattiewagg Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 USB mics should be just fine for your purposes and will not need other equipment.
