sskagent
So i used to have a Radeon 9800 pro 128 MB graphics card. I bought Oblivion, and while it wasn't great it was playable and ran pretty good. Time went on and somehow the fan completely fell off the heat sink on the graphics card. Being a cheap college student I just went to Best Buy and bought a graphics card off the self. This was a GeForce 5200 FX 256 MB. Both are AGP 8x. I made no other changes to my system - P4 3.01 gig ram60 mb hard driveaudigy 2 sound card. Now I can not play oblivion at all. at 800x600 with everything off and turned down i can't move inside. I've patched oblivion and tried to patch the grapics card(I'm not sure anything changed though) and no better. Did I really just buy the worst card ever? Dark0ne
Hi sskagent ... I think you may well have managed to buy backwards from your 9800! Sorry :(
Switch
Agreed. I had an FX5200 when my Ti 4200 died a number of years ago and it struggled a lot with World of Warcraft... my Ti 4200 was better. Suffice to say that's pretty rubbish. The amount of VRAM in the FX5200 is deceptive, it's actually a very low spec card. Sorry, methinks you'll have to invest in a better card if you want to play OB.
