Hexxagone
Anyone else find it odd that the magical courier can find you from anywhere in Skyrim? What if your house (like Breezehome) had a mailbox that the courier just dropped the letters into? When you picked up your mail and read the notes it continues that quest like normal. Or even, Each of the 5 major cities had a post office with its own courier, you would ask this courier if you had any mail and he would say "nope sorry" or "I have a letter here for you, your eyes only, lets see here..." then gives you whatever you need. nightinglae850
The 2nd option seems better as not everyone buys a vanilla house. Seems easy too. 1. Make a copy of Hiemskr's house2. Place a copy of the house by the stables of each major city3. Create 4 generic courier npcs and have them live in those houses, the one ingame could be Whiteruns Add the scripting like the OP says to pick up mail and its done. *Maybe add a shop sign outside the houses with a letter symbol on it. And get rid of the 4 chairs inside his copied house, in their place have a table with letters and notes on them like hes sorting mail* Edited October 27, 2015 by nightinglae850
Boombro
The real question is, will it break anything? Edited October 27, 2015 by Boombro
Hexxagone
Nightinglae - I like that suggestion :) Boombro - Not sure, the only quests tied to the courier is the Dark Brotherhood and the Unearthed quest from Solstheim, maybe have those be the only exception. DB says somebody paid the courier to find you and Solstheim isnt a big island so it makes sense for a courier to find you in both cases :) Edited October 27, 2015 by Hexxagone
Taiine
The dark brotherhood could have members keeping tabs on you so it make sense that the courier would know where to find you. Solstheim may not be a big island but it's big enough. Could be he happened to find you while on his way to the town to... try and find you., :P

Let not forget mods too. Even though it not realistic, his goal is more of convince than realism.
Hexxagone
They dont need really need him as much as they need you to receive the quest letter, like the Potema quest where it doesn't progress until you read the letter given to you. Boombro
It only seem like it from in-game.There scripts, allies and packages that pull him out of his cell, track you, force greet you and then hand you letters. Then you need to leave for him to leave the worldspace and go back to his cell. Some of those may be hidden quest stages.
