Darkened666
So I reinstalled Skyrim and all my mods and started a new game. When I created character and so on I could play for 5 minutes and then crashed, but here is there weird part When I tried to play again I didn't get any crashes after 2-5min and I could play for hours without problems. So my point is did anybody else experience this with heavily modded Skyrim?
Boombro
That normal on a heavily modded Skyrim, if it badly maintained.Load order?
SMB92
Mine occasionally just ctds on new game, i was actually building some racemenu presets just now and Hadvar went missing, the front cart tipped over (lol physics) and a deer ran out in front of mine and got flattened XD. Good times.
Darkened666
That normal on a heavily modded Skyrim, if it badly maintained.Load order? I've sorted my load order with the newest LOOT and I have bashed patch and merged patch. I needed to do completely clean install of Skyrim and outdated mods. I didn't have any problems before with my character. I could play 5-6h without crashes. I think the reason why the game crashed after few minutes of playing because I have a lot of mods which has configurations going on and Skyrim couldn't handle all of them activating at the same time. Modding Skyrim isn't new thing for me because I started to mod it early 2013  Edited October 30, 2015 by Darkened666

jones177
Yes. I can load Skyrim & have it crash or freeze in minutes. When I turn it back on again & it will run great for hours. This happens in 1 of 5 starts. The instability started this year & I blame the video drivers for now. I have mods in my load list that will randomly crash Skyrim. These are Skyrim Immersive Creatures, Frostfall & Wet cold. The time between CTD is about 12 hours. Later
Boombro
Think of yourself as a lucky one. Sometimes, my saves don't work. So before quitting, I save 6 times.
notmyhome
Crashing/Physics bugs during starting a new game can for the most part be circumvened by using Alternate Start - Live another life. Stay in that room for awhile (until you can access all your mod's MCMs seems to be a good rule of thumb to figure out the safe starting time), then use the "I got caught crossing the border illegally" option. Thats exactly what i do. I stand there and wait for the MCMs to configure then i set them up. And then i proceed. Every now and then tho i will get a CTD after using the bed. Reload the save and the game will work 100 percent fine.
SMB92
Actually what i do is hit the console button at the video, wait for a few scripts to finish and then its all good and dandy. Without doing that my cart just becomes a tumbling roller coaster lol. I think the reason for this is that the navmesh is all funked up at the start on account of Helgen Reborn. Im doing a bit of research on this, because i have the threaded navmesh setting also. But yeah if i dont give it that few extra seconds at the beginning at goes nuts. Its pretty hilarious sometimes. Once Ulfric somehow fell out and was standing next to a guard and kept saying "stop". I love a good wtf moment. But i would agree its a 1 in 5 success story.
