I need construction set help

Hey all

I was not sure where to post this... but here it goes....

ive just started playing around with the Construction set, and ive seemed to be able to get everything working in order but the Dialogue part. if i creat a new topic and add it to a npc it will not show up in his topic list. i have tryed all options including assigning the topic to this specific npc and he still display the text massage . i have also tryed to edit pre existing text topics that the npc already has in his topic list but nuthing i edited is there. im sure i have no truble saving my plug in patches because any other type of editing i do to the game its self will stay just not any dialogue. the only explanation i can think of (other then i'm an Idget and cant figure out what im forgeting to do) is that my Cd is scrached, so to save it i placed all of the context of it on my hard drive and downlaoded patches for the parts i was missing

I guess all im asking is can i see a tutorial on how to a assign new dialogue? so i can figure out if i am screwing up or if my game is screwing up

Thanks

:stupid:

First of all, moving this to the TES Construction Set forum

When you say the topic does not show up, do you mean it does not appear in the NPCs dialogue topics ingame, or when you filter the dialogue editor by NPC ID?

To make the topic show up ingame, you need to use the 'addtopic' command in the results box of either the NPCs greeting, or a standard topic. THis will then make the topic available.

Also, the topic must have a response for which all conditions are met in order for it to show up in game. If no response meets the set criteria the topic won't show up.

As for edited dialogue not showing up, it could be that you have edited a response which has conditions attached to it - if these conditions are not met the edited response will not show up.

Glad you got the problem sorted, just wanted to point out there's an edit button above your posts, so you can edit them to add more info in, instead of having to double post :P
