Will I be able to run it?

Hmm, time for a new rig? I'll definitely get a desktop next time, but how does my current laptop look?

i7 4810MQ rated at 2.8 GHz, but it's supposed to have a "turbo" feature and I have a monitor that says the frequency is 3600MHz. GTX880m, 8gb vid and 24gb system ram.

The processor ought to work for lowish settings, your monitor frequecy really doesn't matter in terms of playing the game, your video card does not have 8 gigs of ram, and I'm not sure where you got 24 gigs of system of ram perhaps you meant 2.4? If your ram is actually 2.4 you're never going to run the game so I suggest you look at your specs again.

The monitor is a cpu monitor and yeah, I paid extra for the stupid amount Vram and system ram. I guess my weak link is the cpu.

Well in that case it'll run but at what settings I'm not really sure that's an odd set up.

Thanks for the replies gunslinger! Not really that tech savvy. Most of the problems I had with the Fallout games were linked to a lack of memory so when i bought my current rig i made sure to upgrade all the memory stuff. No problems so far with current gen games(Witcher3 on high), but i think Fallout4 is going to choke my cpu.

If you can witcher 3 on high I'd be incredibly surprised if your computer had issues running fallout 4. Witcher 3 is a benchmark game, it's a pretty demanding game to run.

Will my flatmate's rig do for this? I suppose so, I guess all of his component go at least above the bare minimum?

Your flatmate's computer shouldn't have too much trouble, could probably even be able to play with high graphics.

My specs are:

i7 3630Q 2.4 Ghz

GTX 650m 2 GB VRAM

16GB RAM

Windows 7

I know the processor will probably be ok, it's just the gpu i'm worried about. Will i be at least able to play at low settings 900p? And does anyone else think that these minimum specs seem a little too high to be true? Not trying to diss the game but visually it seems like a slightly bumped up version of skyrim.

Your processor almost definitely won't be able to run the game. Your graphics card would also likely have a problem even on lowest settings.

Figured I'd ask, but i'm still gonna try anyways. Changed all my gpu's settings to prefer performance, and I'll probably turn down the resolution to 720p and hope for 20-30 FPS lol. I'm planning a beast desktop next month so if I don't run the game i'll just borrow or buy a ps4 copy.

Hard to say until it comes out and people can mod it. Theoretically the recommended requirements would do it but I'm quite doubtful of their statement that you need a 3.6 ghz processor. Thats pretty high end and frankly pisses me off. I put a grand into building a gaming computer this summer with a i5 4690 3.2ghz processor and that was semi end. There's not a game on the market I couldn't play with that.

I worry about that too; my laptop has an Intel Core i7-4710MQ (Quad-Core 2.5 GHz / 3.5 GHz Turbo - Cache 6 Mo), along with 16 GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870, will that work?

It'll work just watch the temp on your laptop if it's going into turbo mode (overclocking from the sounds of it) your computer will be working much harder and could overheat which would be very bad. Other than your processor everything else should work.

Guys , I looked on steam to see the recommended specs of the Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 has slighty more required specs from what I see , I have Witcher 3 and I run it on high graphics with 60fps , could run on ultra but i prefer 60 fps. So I should be able to run Fallout 4 right?

yes you can run fo4, with my specs I can witcher 3 on max settings (except the view distance to medium)

remember my specs:

Nvidia GeForce GTX 760

i5-4570 CPU 3.2GHz

8 GB RAM

WIN 7 64 bit
