elixxon
Which races do you choose in character creation and for what purpose? My first character was a Nord 2h Heavy Warrior. The first male Nord preset looks like Thor... I had no choice... Thor is too cool. (Why no hammers in this game?) I found that Bretons are friggin OP in the long run because of their passive magic resist whyich grant protection against literally all magic spells. Ice Lances, Fireballs, Thunders? They barely tickle... I started to make new chars as Breton but I soon learned that going for the OP race only result in having all chars being from the same race which just make stuff so booooring... So then I made my archers to be Imperials. The class is about avoiding damage anyway and the gold increasing passive is just so cool. My mages are always Breton. The first female preset is just so hawt and looks great as a mage. I also made a vampire assassin Darkelf but.... mind controlling things just became boring after a while and the character sucked in combat overally.(Also Breton 25% magic resist beats into Oblivion that puny 50% fire resist. You don't need to go hungry as a vamp anyway because 1day cooldown abilities are just ridiclously bad.) I had a Bound Sword-Conjurer-Light Warrior Highelf. It is just great running around with it, the Dremoras are cool and being so friggin' tall is just AWESOME!!!(I may have played too much with those tiny Bretons...) Also made a Khajiit brawler... great fun at the beginning but the damage scales ridiclously bad and requires a LOT of grinding to max out ench. Boombro
Why no hammers in this game? You mean like in thor? his weapon is most modded weapon of fiction there is more than two. My main is always a tanky argonian battlemage. Good racial across overall, looks funny in heavy armor and I like colorful stuff. My second is Redguard that is a beast/monster hunter. Light armored with axes/swords in hand and a bow. She seeks to kill all manners of beasts and monsters. My end game was a buffed dragon battle since she was not a dragonborn. Then I was bored, made my first argonian male and made him buff, tall and brightly pink. Gave him the fur skirt and two blades. He is the most savage brute Skyrim ever seen. Everyone runs when shouts as her enters the battle ( I just think of the shout power as his battle cry.) One of my last was a cowardly altmer mage thief with the goal to always run away when face with battle or jail. Wear enchanted clothing and has no way too attack anything. When forced to battle with no exit, I made her transform to a spriggan with a spell mod. But it was still rare and I would always hide when able and let her husband do the job. I leveled him her destruction skill just for the wind cloak form the dlc, to stagger foes and run away easier.

Xannykins
I usually always choose Khajiits and they're all thieves and/or assassins 99% of the time. I like hiding from the shadows and sniping people from afar too much to enjoy anything else. I did start making different races though, since I now have an Argonian assassin, Redguard thief, and High Elf Nightingale. One of my very first characters was an Argonian warrior though, full heavy armor, shield and one-handed whatever-she-could-get-her-claws-on. I still have her, actually, but I very rarely play her now days because I've done mostly everything on that file. It's more for nostalgia sake -- the last time I actually played her in any fashion was way back in 2012. I have started branching out from my thief roots though, I now have a few different warrior type characters (an Orc and a Dark Elf), and some mages mixed in for good measure (both of them being Bretons... for some damn reason). I did have a High Elf mage at one point, but I accidentally deleted that file and just never bothered to remake her.
Perraine
My 'mains" are always Nords, 'coz, well, it just doesn't feel right being the Dragonborn if you're any other race (at least to me anyway) But I like pussycats for my stealthy sneaky Sniper/Thief/Assassin playthrough's and I alternate between High Elf for my mages, and Imperial for my all round adventurer's. Bretons, Redguards and the other elven races I just don't really like that much. Although I did tweak my Falkreath Housecarl to be a hotter 'n' sexier 'n' hell, a$$ whooping, dual Scimitar wielding, Daedric Armor wearing chick if that counts? Did an Orc Heavy Chieftain in both male and female, that was fun for a single playthrough each, just butchering everything :) Never played a lizard, just can't create one I like the look of ... (Oh, and according to steam, I just cracked 2657 hours of Skyrim, is that bad?)
Stargazer09
I usually played male Nords, but for my current game I did a female Redguard.
Moksha8088
I like being a Nord simply because no one has yet created an acceptable Penguin race. Nord was the closest I could find. Never thought about creating a Battle Penguin, but if it was possible then it would be both immersive, lore-friendly and what was that other catchy word? .... Oh yeah, it would also be realistic in an immersive and lore-friendly way. Battle Penguins would most likely smash any or all of the cute adolescent elf characters it encountered. So perhaps it would reach legendary realistic, immersive and lore-friendly status.

Moksha8088
(Oh, and according to steam, I just cracked 2657 hours of Skyrim, is that bad?) No problem at all. Most Nords spend their entire life in Skyrim. After ten years worth of playable hours, you might qualify for the retirement plan at age 65.
