Death Alterenative.

By far one of my favorite mods in Skyrim was Death Alternative. Not only do I hope that this mod makes its way to Fallout 4, but I think that the Fallout universe lends itself terrifically to this mod. For those who are unaware check out the link but let me explain why I think this is an essential mod for anyone seeking a hardcore/realistic game.

The ability to save practically anytime and the quicksave features in most games today make dying practically meaningless. If you see a particularly dangerous situation there's nothing stopping you from going in anyway guns-a-blazing. If you die, oh well, just reload and try again. And again if necessary. I, like I'm sure many of you, enjoy having to truly think about what I am doing. I like to have to assess the situation and decide what the best course of action may or may not be. A Death Alternative mods in essence makes dying meaningful. You want to avoid it at all costs. I can't tell you the number of times that my adrenaline was pumping as I was fleeing an enemy that was much stronger than me in attempt to avoid death. Without the mod, meh, oh well, just let him kill me and then reload.

What's better is that Fallout could have some amazing moments after you do in fact "die." You could be imprisoned by super mutants, be captured by the Institute, left on the side of the road with all of your gear gone, being sold into slavery by raiders, etc. The possibilities are truly endless. And the fact that we have a Luck category in the game could play into this as well.

Some of my best moments in Skyrim came after I had died and had my gear looted. Having to track down who had my stuff and eventually getting it back was genuinely gratifying. I remember losing a particular sword in Skryim to a bandit marauder. The moment when I killed him and reclaimed my sword was so organic and satisfying.

So again, I hope (and am practically begging) the maker of this mod (Bralor Marr) to get it into Fallout 4.

Yes...I also think games these days value death as an unimportant end to that certain player who dies. No wonder there are so many mass shootings these days. It is sort of like the killers are trying to find out if life is a big video game, and they will start all over after they off themselves (or get shot by the cops, etc.). I prefer mods like this...where you start again, but are in no way as powerful, or as lucky, or as rich, as just before death. Think of it as death, or near death, has consequences.

Mean while, everyone is doing a sniper stealth build.

But it right, the mod is so dame fitting for fallout world.

No question. I've thought about so many scenarios that would be great after you died. If I was a mod-maker this would be the one I'd make.

You have to know scripting and how to make quests.

Learning how to mod Skyrim may help with fallout modding a lot.

I don't plan on trying to make my own mod. I'm just simply saying that if I had the ability that I'd do a death alternative mod for sure. I'm just hoping that it makes its way into Fallout 4.

Totally agree! I hate that feeling that I can load without any penalties.

It would be cool if I would be killed by animal I would "wake up" deep in some cave or nest etc depending on what animal/monster killed me. All my stuff would stay where I died or maybe looted but still in game world so I would know that some stuff is mine for example in some shop or at someones inventory. And when humans would kill me then my stuff would be stored somewhere or sold but still in game world (not erased/removed) Bandits would imprison us or leave naked near some river or random place

Death penalty would be awesome immersion feature! I really look forward into such mod in near future.
