Are you talking abouy the Steam Tool library manager?

In any case it wouldn't change anything for me to move the folder. I should have mentioned it first, but my FONV installation is on a drive completely separate from my OS. So it shouldn't run into permission issues at all.

I'm having the same exact issue as him, in which GECK crashes everytime I try to edit a weapon (I've only tested mod weapons so far).

I right click, and click edit, then booom. GECK has stopped working.

Honestly it's a fantastic coincidence that right after my troubles, I discovered this thread.

Maybe it's because of windows 10. Didn't have problems back when I was on 7.

your are most defiantly not alone with (10) issues.

But, the data I posted in my link was done on windows 10 with full steam overlay running directly the tools GECK from steams tool menus Not from the outside.

steam was involved.

so..it goes, I require to see your games root folder showing all the files to determine what IF any is missing or has been added.

Now; IF you have modded the game, have installed said mods into the games data directory, a simple thing as a bad *.nif file can cause the geck to choke on weapons...the one thing these games are famous for are modified mesh files and texture replacements....not all done correctly.

are you using power up ?

If your ,it's not a geck issue.

but any way, here is what i did to isolate an exact data requirement less any other sub-folders.

http://s24.postimg.org/f4hcee0at/screenshot.jpg

and this is the directory structure

  Reveal hidden contents

that there are just the loose files in the root, that there is all there should be in the game directory if your going to be using the geck.

If you intend to use power up ,then you need precise controls set up for it.

Here is the data folder assets , only them.

What is the purpose of keeping your Data folder elsehwere, yet on the same drive

?

Otherwise my folder setup seems to check out.

The text in the spoiler was the purpose to move subfolders out in order to get an accurate reading of the file in the root directory has nothing to do with you I use directory list function on my system to read the folder contents data folder and other items that were moved back
