Spasticon1
OK sorry if this was already solved but I'm desperate. Huston I have a problem: Note: I always use 7 zip plus, I lost the ability to uninstall Oblivion (the thing that allows that is gone). After installing some mods then the Official Oblivion Patch (so I could use some modes I wanted to use) I installed some more mods I started playing and I can't Interact with anything by that I mean: no putting stuff into my inventory, searching bodies opening containers doors etc., I could go on but, you get the idea. So what do you suggest?

Spasticon1
Umm...Is the setup.exe the thing that allows people to install/uninstall oblivion? I ask because it's the thing that is gone. Also should I have Installed the patch first? After this mess is sorted out I plan on using both the Official and Unofficial Oblivion Patches, Alternate Start revamped, Ren's Beauty Pack, HGEC Body, DMRA stack robe and clothing replacer (I can't find the non-skimpy stock armor replacer), princess line dress plus the DMRA version of it,the Pretty Women animation TARDIS by Eolhin, and the Skeletons body thing (those mods are the ones I'm going to keep using). Aurasoma
This might help us, help you. Are you using Steam or the CD?Steam has an additional removal function that might help removal. Also if all else fails you can delete the folder from its installed position. Spasticon1
I'm using the CD. Also I'm going to wright down in my notebook a list of thing to remember while modding! The reason for that is if i don't I am going to have a repeat of this! I am forgetful and as a result I (don't laugh please) didn't create a backup of the data folder. lubronbrons
yeah, first time modding oblivion. I happen to spend a long time to customize rather than playing it....but, after everything done and more stable. now the hard work of all that time, it's been paid ofGood luck @Spasticon1 hope you found your way and solution
Spasticon1
Thanks, that kind of you and I am determined to find a solution. Now from what i have gathered the original version of the data folder isn't downloadable but, I need the original meshes, textures and sound (also whatever else that is in the data folder that get edited by mods that I forgot about) due to the fact I have to purge all of the mods first. I also need a concrete order to Install the mods In the list of the mods I am going to keep using and along with that, both the Official and Unofficial Oblivion patches. I am very sorry if I asked for to much but I am finally able to play Oblivion with mods and because of my lack of modding know-how caused me to accidentally break the game it leaves my confused So if any of you can help with that somehow and know of anything that could help me I would be very grateful. PS: Just to be honest, I was nervous about posting this and I wanted to mention that fact just to get it of my chest and because this is the Internet I have absolutely no Idea what I may sound like to all you. eric31415
You should be able to run the setup.exe directly from the disc. Pretty sure I had to do that once. Or as a last resort, use the Windows uninstaller. Just make sure to delete any leftover folders in either case. And make sure to follow the procedures in the guide that bben linked to. Spasticon1
Wait, besides the data folder Oblivion has the inti file, LipSynch.map, setup.exe (unless your me, I have no clue what i did to that thing), the launcher, and some other stuff. So my question is what is the thing that controls the players ability to interact with the world (plus everything and everyone in it) and were is it? If I can replace it (or mod It), it might fix the problem. Edited November 17, 2015 by Spasticon1

Oblivion.exe is the executable containing the game logic, that game logic is applied to the files in Data (which define the world) with some of the game's running parameters set by Oblivion.ini I really don't think you should hex edit the executable. Read what bben46 linked to and there's also this Complete Installation Guide for Oblivion on TESCOSI (an invaluable resource).
