Romance Nick Valentine

Guys, you really are gods. I tried to poke around new CK, and I still can't separate textures for similar armor models D: Seems so alien!

I'm super exited about mod coming up!!! *_* You're awesome! And new ideas about romance quests, - amasing! I just hope that will be after-base-romance quests, so there won't be need to start a new game, but I'll be super happy either way!

Thank you so much for your hard work! You're heroes! ^_^

I just finished the last part of Nick's Affinity quest and am now officially romancing him. It's working pretty well, only thing I noticed (besides the same lip file issue) is that the Relationship? responses and the Lover's Embrace dialogue are only using one option for each. At least as far as I've discovered.

What do you mean by 'one option for each'?

Sorry, I mean that instead of nick saying different responses at random he only says the same one. Example, in the relationship question the only response I got was "thank goodness I found you"

The "your thoughts" responses are all showing up tho

That guy is a robot, are you sure you want a romance with an appliance?

Tecnically you aren't having any romance, you are using a d*ldo with body, arms and legs.

Let me kiss the toaster.

I could complain all day about how much I disagree with your second line, but I won't.

So I've split up all the audio files that were longer than about 5 seconds into smaller pieces, in case we want to give that a try to fix the lip syncing problem.

Here's a folder containing all the audio files for the mod. They should now be using the same folder and file name structure that is in the mod, and I kept any changes that were made to the lines in the mod, as far as I can tell!

Here's the doc that lists all the file names, what dialogue is in them, and indicates which files have been split into smaller pieces and no longer match the versions in the mod.

I figure we'd have to update the mod to use the new files, though; if we just generate new lip/fuz files from these and pop them in as is I think a lot of audio will suddenly be missing! But maybe we could still do that to check whether the shorter files improve the lip syncing at all before we fully update the mod to use all of them?

Narfiam is more like Institute scientist, and we are, like, Railroad - "big, dysfunctional family. With guns." :D

Hmm... try deleting the .xwm files, redoing the LIP files with the WAVs I gave you, and then compressing both of them into a FUZ file.

Hey guys, sorry for the slow reply - it was my birthday and I had a whole heap of family stuff sprung on me :/

Anyway, I did what Shadow suggested and made fuz files without the xwm files, and you can find them here.

Hopefully that fixes the issue :S

You guys have probably done this, but I remember from Skyrim that you could ensure certain lines were random by checking a 'random' box in the CK, and also force them to say a line or to wait before repeating a line for say, 24 in-game hours - does that make sense?

Hello again everyone :)

So I just finished generating lip and fuz files from the wav files that Bette uploaded to her dropbox above, and you can find these new files here.

Might as well give the new files a go and see if they do fix the lip syncing issue. Otherwise, I've got to be honest, I'm kind of stumped as to why the lip files are going out of sync :S

Kiddo, is it just a little out of sync or is it a lot out of sync? Like, is it very distracting to play with?

I don't have a save game that I can use to test out this mod yet, but I'm going to start working on it to see if I can help troubleshoot with you guys. (Unless the infatuation repeater scene is close so I can try with my current character?)

Alternatively, maybe there's something wrong with my lip files? I mean, there shouldn't be, and I've done lip files for a mod before that worked perfectly, but that was for Skyrim. And who knows? Maybe my computer is just being a s#*! :P It might be worth a try if one of you guys tries to generate some and see if we have better luck? At least that way we'll be able to eliminate a possibility that might be causing bugs.

In lighter news, I think that the dialogue is sounding a lot smoother now - did you edit the audio files, Bette? :)

Urgh! We're so close! Let me know if there's anything you guys need me to do to help squash these bugs!

Has anyone had a chance to try out either the fuz files without the xwm files, or the fuz files for the new shorter versions of the audio files? I'm still working on that infatuation repeater scene, but I can take a break and start focusing on troubleshooting too.

I can also try generating lip files, just to eliminate that as a possible source of the issue.

Sigrid, I actually didn't edit those audio files! I wonder why they sounded smoother?
