dukemordred
- open console -> type tcl (make sure you have no object selected in console, meaning no ref ID numbers showing in the middle on the console), you don`t need to press E on any piece before tcl- now collision is off and you can still select any piece with E- press E then TAB, one by one, on any pieces you want to have no collision, you still get to keep the snap places you need and just remove collision exactly from the ones you want to- place whatever you need- tcl again to turn it on and restore collision to all pieces Hope this helps guys, it's much better than the other method I kept finding written everywhere on how to use tcl. Have fun and thanks for the mods!
BorrowedName
I tried and failed to do as you said. I know it's asking a lot but do you think you could do a video tutorial?
Pthalo
I am seconding a video tutorial. I'm not sure how to explain my own method of using TCL, and don't know if it's the easiest. Seeing your approach would be quite informative if you're feeling up to making a video!
dukemordred
Sorry guys I haven`t made videos in a long time I don`t have programs for that anymore.I tried to phrase it the best way possible, don`t know how to explain it better than that, but I`ll try with different words I guess. - so you have tcl that makes you fly around your placed pieces- while you are in tcl mode you can still select the pieces you already placed with E- pressing E on a piece will make you grab it to move it around if you want, and TAB to place it back where you took it from- doing this while you are in tcl mode will make that piece have no more collision, when you either place it somewhere else or place it where it was with TAB- you will notice after you E + TAB on it that you can`t press E on the same one again, it has no collision- you can do this for all the pieces you need to have no collision and leave the ones you need to snap to- then go to the build menu and choose what you want to place, you will be able to clip it through the ones you did E + TAB on but still snap to the ones you didn`t- since you are still in tcl mode the new piece you placed will have no collision as well, just like pressing E + TAB on your old pieces- then you type tcl again you restore collision to all pieces Has no one actually understood my explanation? SomethingCrazy
I found out recently that if you place an item on a rug and pick up the rug, it will move the object(s) with it. Doing this uses the rugs collision instead of said item(s), allowing you to clip things into each other quite easily. Then just TAB to store the rug and get it out from underneath. If you scrap it, you'll lose most of the mats required to build it. The tcl can be useful for some items, but for decorations or junk fences I use the rug. dukemordred
yes but with the rug you can`t make an object clip through something but still snap to another thing you want it perfectly attached to

MrOcD
I have figured out a few ways to align pretty much anything inside build mode. through the map, into pre built walls etc.http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3435155-essential-time-saving-building-exploitstricks/ is one
zidanfoxdale
tcl command doesn't work anymore for this purpose. It allows to fly and that's it. Place anywhere seem doesn't work in same way.. Also many settlements, like Taffington boathouse became even worse. E.g. in aforementioned house half of bottom floor cannot have anything to be placed in. HeyYou
For me, with collision toggled off, anything I place while in that mode doesn't have collision either, and therefore, I cannot select it, if I want to move it again.....
