oh also i want to point out i have seen posts about this exact same topic for just about every single bethesda game hosted on this site throughout their mod life here. a few months ago someone was complaining about how people were making so many gawd dang freakin followers and called them out as not being modders for it.

 

 

Yeah, I made a trash post along those lines earlier. I just find the pattern funny. I had no idea how personally people would take it. The mods ended up locking it understandably, it was in fact a s*** post.

 

Given that the default sort order on the nexus is descending by ENDORSEMENTS, I find the complaint hilariously entitled. So basically you're saying that people shouldn't have uploaded stuff that other people actually LIKED, because YOU didn't like it, and are too spoiled (or stupid) to click twice on the next page link? (Because, frankly, most categories are between 1 page and 3 pages at the moment.)

 

Jesus, junior, take a hint. Tastes are relative. If enough other people liked mod A so it's closer to the top, but not many liked mod B, exactly why should anyone give a damn that it's garbage for YOU? What makes your opinion more accurate than theirs?

 

Besides, I always find it hilariously entitled when someone thinks they're entitled to DEMAND that people spend anywhere between weeks and months making what HE personally wants -- in fact, drop everything else and do it RIGHT NAO -- because he's too lazy to spend mere minutes browsing more than one page. WTH?

 

Any reason why you had to be such an a**hole? The person above you said exactly the same thing, but didn't resort the childish crap you're pulling. It's ironic, given the patronizing tone you posted in.

 

And to the mods, if you're moderating my posts and I'm not just losing my mind, please give me some kind of warning. So I know that my posts are either not making it or getting mod deleted. the people who have been on these forums and myself are generally tired of seeing people like this and seem to make it a personal quest to shoot anyone who post them down to reduce the number of people who post them. to quote jim_UK: "Oh joy, another "Stop making what I don't like" thread."

Is there a way to just remove mods from our view? Theres SO much junk, just want an option to mark a mod as 'never show me this again ever' or something.

That's all well and good that people are tired of it, but the attitudes are uncalled for. If people had responded like you, then there wouldn't be any problems and that thread would still be unlocked. I would have just conceeded that it was stupid, like I am now. The "Oh joy, another "Stop making what I don't like" thread." comment was uncalled for, because that wasn't what I was saying. I was trying to make light humor of the pattern that the modding scene has fallen under, but some people are so full of it on here that they couldn't interpret it as anything other than an attack on their interests. Looks like I failed. If you look at how long I've been a member compared to my post history, you'll notice I don't talk much. This is a very sensitive community.

 

I'd also not call them 'childish'. That word gets thrown around far too much. The whole concept of maturity is relative, and those people's responses were anything but 'mature'. If I make a toungue in cheek post about the 'bethesda waifu modding tradition' and people want to get uppity and take it seriously that's honestly their own problem. Their level of sensitivity precludes them from being an authority on maturity. That's not directed at you of course, as you're being civil and I understand where you're coming from. I learned from that post and won't be doing that again. I think the mods will be making sure of that ;) .

 

Back on topic, I'm convinced that complaining about content on here is a waste of time as all content is beneficial in one way or another. It will self moderate. That's my 'serious' opinion on the matter.

Click on the name of the author. In the top right/middle you'll find the option 'block author'. You'll never see anything made by them again.

 

This little feature alone kinda makes all of the serious complaints redundant. Nexus has all the tools you need to tailor your front page.

bashing modders of any skill is a touchy subject even if it was supposed to just be a humorous bash. the regulars here are trying our best to encourage people to try modding and if people see things constantly hating on bad mods it discourages people from sharing what they made because they dont think it is worth anything; or you they simply dont try for a similar reason.

you made troll responses in reply to most of them childish is reasonable. now childish in the sense of modders is a different people honestly hit people for skimpy or sexing up the games when in reality they're just there for fun. also many nude mods are seen as "pervy boys made a mod" with people not even taking in consideration of who made them initially. (both UNP and CBBE were made by women) it's just a fantasy world and people want to add to it what they wish to add hating on them for it is pointless. (sorry ranting)

exactly complaining is pointless and annoys most of the regulars. criticizing is different though and is highly encouraged but you have to be careful as some people dont take it well.

I understand that perfectly well, but I was just making light of it. I had just clicked on the browse button and bam, there was already a set of tits staring at me. Seriously, the nude mod icon is just a picture of tits. Not very classy. I just thought it was silly and vented a bit. Didn't think anyone would take it seriously. I certainly don't want to discourage people from modding. I just think the whole dress up deal is silly, and I don't really care who I tell about it. If those folks are really secure then they have no reason to give a single crap about how I feel about it.

 

I'm not attacking them directly or trying to imply that they're 'perverted'. Their interests are just funny to me. It doesn't change who they are as people. They're probably awesome folks. My attitude doesn't transfer well through text, and I think I forget that a lot. I usually come across as pretentious when I'm just trying to be silly and take the piss. That's why they got the trolly responses, because I didn't feel that it warranted their bs so i just reflected it right back at them. I also regularly say things that don't seem like a big deal to me, but really rub people the wrong way. If people are civil in pointing it out ( like you ) I'll be the first one to accept it.

i get that but honestly with all the people attacking these mods it's no surprise people didnt see the joke. seriously it is a bigger issue then people realize the mods just are good at keeping up with it so most dont see it. like a good example is a Dragon Age mod that changed a gay character so that female PCs could marry him. about 16 people (i believe there are more but im not going to go count) were banned for reporting it citing "homophobia". there are just some things you need to be careful about saying simply because enough people are attacking it as it is.

 

oh by the way a couple people have already reported said nude mod for dumb reasons as well and have been banned for it.

i could tell, though honestly when you have people start commenting negatively just state you meant it as a joke because trolling and flamebait are both bannable offenses on the site. though trolling usually will get you a warning first followed by a ban if you persist.
