TheOriginalEvilD
I forget the exact specs but I'm running a GTX 770 (Ti? Titanium? it's the 2gb version), along with a i5 4670 and 16gb of RAM but I don't recall the speed offhand. I play on Ultra and haven't messed with any settings and it runs a constant 60fps and is smooth as silk. Timmiii
I purchased a 970 supersuperclocked edition for $250 days before f4 released. It was a newegg pre black friday sale so I'd expect some similar sales throughout the holiday season I love Newegg. It seems no matter what you buy, it will be out classed in six months. That's how electronics are marketed. I haven't owned a desktop in years. Black Friday in the states does offer great prices, also after Christmas sales.I picked up my rig plus a cooling pad (I always run one when gaming on a laptop) for $700 a year ago, now it's no longer manufactured.Bethesda over states the requirements needed to run their games in ultra settings in my opinion. mwhenry16
Thing is, just a new videocard probably wont help you much, it's everything around it that decides how well that videocard will perform. Processor, ram and motherboard are just as important. You said it came with the PC so i assume it's an off the shelf system? It's ussually not worth it to upgrade those. If you do go down that road, It's better to start looking at the minimum specs for fallout 4 and see how close your rig is to those specs. See how much it will cost to upgrade to minimum specs at least and how much it will set you back to recommended specs. Decide if it's worth it for you and save your money to buy/build a good rig. Something like this is probably a better investment then spending 500 dollars on just a videocard for your current rig: http://www.gamersnexus.net/pc-builds Make a list of the parts and see what you can grab on black friday. That was just one of the first google results there's heaps more with good advice for budget systems. And offcourse take a look at the nexus forum hardware and software topics. Thanks a ton for posting that link. With two pepple in my house looking for an upgrade it's perfect. I honestly think bethesda tested and tailored their recommended pc specs for modders and tweakers to some extent. The're really pushing for modding this game in particular. I think a lot of people misinterpret "recommended" as "I'm going to blow this game out of the water with my new rig" and to a lesser degree "I expect ultra at 60 fps with some wiggle room if I properly optimize my rig." With that in mind I think it was kind of a smart decision on bethesda's part to over spec. If they want people modding and playing their games for years they don't want people to be frustrated with their very expensive pc parts that bethesda themselves recommended when they try adding a few texture mods or a scripted weather mod a few months after release. billypnats
get a r9 280x or the nvidia equivalent, the 970. Both can run the game at 60 fps 1080p on ultra.Nope, i5 4690 R9 280x 8gig 1600 ram here. FPS dies in boston city even with the beta driver
gamefever
You have a 300 Watt Power Supply,I'd suggest getting a new PSU and a GTX 970Nvidia Graphics Card all the way especially since pretty much all the 2015 games were optimized for the Nvidia cards heck there are whole hate threads devoted to this. Dhegonus
don't forget to see if your pc casing is large enough for your desired card and to see if your motherboard is compatible too.
