Hexxagone
Early work on Elder Scrolls 6 most likely has started. From what I know it took Bethesda three years to make Fallout 4 and one year to do bug fixing and optimization. So there is a possibility that TES6 is already one year in development. While the tech guys finish and fix FO4, the concept artists, writers and modelers start on TES6 and the whole team comes together after Fallout 4's DLC is finished to get their next game finished. Fallout 4 started before Skyrim came out, didn't kick into full production until after the Dragonborn DLC was released, so maybe the same thing is going to happen with TES6, which means it will come out November 2018 Of course there is always the possibility that those guys were working on Fallout 4's DLC instead of TES6, but only Bethesda knows. Boombro
three years to make Fallout 4 and one year. No, it took seven or almost eight years, the three years after Skyrim they worked on it harder. And yes they have started working on the dlc. At least writing. And not one year, but two months and a half. We have no idea how much dlc is we are going to have, but I hope they are more than two major questlines and not just new land dlcs. After questing around, I would like some kind of horror dlc since fo4 has potential with updated CK engine, and beth nailed it more than once this time to make scared. Warmaker01
Bethesda's FO3 had gotten lots of DLC attention. I do believe they got a blockbuster with FO4's release so it's very safe to assume they will dedicate some time to make DLCs for it. Release of the next TES game isn't going to be as soon as some think. For clarification, FONV and its subsequent DLCs was done by Obsidian while Bethesda published it all. For a timeline: Morrowind (Bethesda) - Mid 2002Oblivion (Bethesda) - Early 2006FO3 (Bethesda) - Late 2008FONV (Obsidian) - Late 2010Skyrim (Bethesda) - Late 2011FO4 (Bethesda) - Late 2015 Bethesda really likes those October / November releases. For Bethesda's RPGs, there's roughly a 4 year cycle between core game releases. It's going to be a long while before the next TES game is out. Not saying that just to kick sand in people's faces because I'm a fan of both the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series. I'm just being realistic here. Unless Bethesda had secretly allowed another developer to work on a TES RPG, it's going to be a long time before TES 6 is out. But I highly doubt they'll let anyone else work on a TES RPG because that franchise is "Bethesda's Baby" created in-house, and the franchise that got their reputation. TES is a fairly old PC RPG franchise from the 90s and the core RPGs had always, ALWAYS been done by them. Edit again: For the sake of speculation, the next RPG Bethesda will develop itself will be a TES RPG. Unbelievably, Skyrim is 4 years old now. Imagine my surprise, especially when I also remembered the last Star Wars movie was from 2005... Holy s***... Anyways, TES is next I think because Bethesda has gone back and forth developing between FO and TES since the mid 2000's. Boombro
I personally hope they take as much time as needed. I may guess is 2019- 2020.Of course, it all up to fo4 dlc which we may have a look at in the next E3 and have no idea how many dlc we are getting. 2? 3? 4? 5? One in a year or two? Hexxagone
Skyrim was Bethesda's biggest / best selling game and it only got 3 DLCs, one small and two main ones. I don't see FO4 getting more than 2-3 DLCs.
