Recoiless Laser

Runestones

Recommended Posts

You know, I actually find it quite weird how a laser weapon can have a recoil... I mean, okay, it's a weapon, so you'd assume it should have a recoil but, it shoots only light... maybe the same could be said about the plasma weapons but as it's theoretically shooting highly ionized gas clouds, most probably, it still could have a recoil, I think, but not a Laser, doesn't matter how strong it is.

If possible, I'd really like for someone to make a mod that removes the recoil of the laser weapons.

I actually have a specially modified Prototype UP77 "Limitless Potential"★ all ready for it with booster capacitor, Improved assault barrel, Tactical grip, Reflex sight and specially an Amplified beam splitter... it was supposed to be my Crowd Controller (tho the damage is not that high, I would just hold down the firing button and see the lights going EVERYWHERE) but the recoil it has is still TOO DAMN HIGH, and it makes no sense. How can a laser, light, have that much recoil...

I ask of you, please, help me with that... not only does it bother me by knowing that laser don't work like that, it also made the weapon I though would be really fun a good idea to clean up evil crowds become utterly useless and pointless...

Anyway, thank you for the attention if you read all the way down here and have a nice day ^^

  • 10 months later...

Going over some old postings of mine to check the ones I believe to be most awesome and ask the community if it is possible or if it already exists. Does anyone know?
The ones I'm commenting on are the ones I actually wanted the most when I was playing. I really wish to see at least one of these to have become a reality, and if even one does, I will make a clean install of the game just to check it out.

Lasers do NOT have a recoil... anyone, please, tell me someone did this already. This, for some reason, always got on my nerves while playing. This and the fact that even though you crank the hell out of the Laser Musket, it still uses ammunition. If I am cranking, IT SHOULD USE NO AMMO. Sorry about the rant... So, does anyone know if some of that has been done? =/

an interesting thread mon ami!

I respectfully have a nuance of opinion;

lazer does have somewhat 'recoil' -

"game theory' of youtube,

search USS Independence/ Gerald R Ford Lazer package...

several lazer systems do recoil,

usually from the discharge in capacity. the capacitors dump their power,

and as thermo-dynamics dictate, there is change of pressure and heat etc...

Janes Fighting Monthly got into detail of some new lazer weapon...

it is miniscule as compare to the exaggeration in FO4,

yet significant enough that it require compensation in the real-world

directed energy projects.

similarly, it happen on the Zummwalt's lazer canon or rail-gun.

the coil gun and rail-mac cannon oughta have recoils.

so, you could use one of the mods other hint at,

which reduce recoil and prevent the animation if you want.

as to the lazer-rifle;

there are mods which replace the Musket-Crank

which replace the ammo pack with infinite EV pack,

it will break your game, especially with Any Mod Any Weapon...

hehehe. it exists, if you search to it on the mod index.

it is essentially like the infinite ammo mode.

the improved sniper barrel, 6 crank lazer musket with MIRV targetting is fun!

the recoil is clearly not from the emitter or beam,

it is the flywheel/crank handle dynamo flying back...

it is fun.

I agree with you though RE lazer vs ablative armor.

hence, the lazer minigun should be a combination minigun/50cal etc.

let us know how you get on!

Did you even try searching first before posting? If you had just searched for "laser", it would have been the second mod listed...

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9417/?

One in, YEY.

No, I did not search as I did not even access the nexus, I was just checking my forum account and found my old postings. I haven't checked the Nexus Mods since I stopped playing both Fallout 4 and Skyrim, that is why I asked the community itself directly.
