dollhobbs
just need to know whether It is a good idea to update Oblivion to it's latest before installing OOO. I was having graphics problems(big yellow boxes and gaurds with only their heads and weapons) and uninstalled everything to start over.
Povuholo
Depends on what version of OOO you want to use. V1.32 requires the official 1.2 patch, but 1.31 and older doesn't. But V1.32 is still an open beta right now so there could be some bugs. And the yellow boxes mean you didn't install the meshes correctly. I don't think that has anything to do with the patch. 21603
I was having issues with 1.2 and OOO 1.31, but once I uninstalled Oblivion and all mods and put everything back on (in the correct order) it all works perfectly :D

Povuholo
You said put (mods) back in correct order, how do you figure out what is the correct order?I think the OOO readme says what type of mods (and patches) to load where. And which ones are just not compatible.
21603
You said put (mods) back in correct order, how do you figure out what is the correct order? By correct order I meant for me I put OOO on before the unofficial patch. So the last two mods I install are OOO and the patch, everything else goes first to avoid any conflicts (that's the plan at least).
chris 07
If you dont have the 1.2 patch for oblivion then you dont need any patch for OOO unless you want 3.1. How did you get the textures in the wrong place if it unpacks it self?

How did you get the textures in the wrong place if it unpacks it self? reinstalled OB and updated it to 1.2 then installed OOO and it's patch also the beginnerschest mod and foud the screwy graphics again so disabled beginners chest mod and graphics were fixed, must be a copatability problem between OOO and the beginnerschest mod. chris 07
So you fixed it?
SickleYield
You're not running Francesco's at the same time, are you? Forgetting to download the huge additional weapons/items pack for that mod is a common mistake (at least, I'd like to think so, since I did it. ;) ).
