OddGuy
To quote Acoran, please don't let this become a flame war of beliefs... anyway, I can't really describe love with words. I can form a picture of it in my mind, but it fades away when I attempt to express it orally... what's everybody else think?
Faust870
<sing> What is loove? Baby dont hurt me, dont hurt me, no more. </sing> Um...lol.... I dont think love can ever be discribed...like you said, as soon as you try to explain it, the words just fall off your tongue... Love is simply the butterflies in your stomach, just ALWAYS being happy... True love, is a true high man, its just wonderful :D

TheDeadTree
..is all you need! Dum-Dum-dum-dum-dum.. Love is all you need, Love, Love, Love is all you need.. all you need.. all you need.. Er, that's all of that song I can remeber. And as for love, I think the deeper question is can true, unconditional love exsist, or is love a mixture of lust, complacency, and desperation? loveme4whoiam
This is turning into a thread to post corny song quotes... Anyway, frankly love gets in the way. It causes pain, death, and suffering to all. Although, it does inspire almost every song ever written, so it has even more blame attached to it  It may sound like i'm bitter, but thats who i am. *hints - look at the name...* EDIT: Has anyone married posted on here yet? ThetaOrionis01
Ok, no more corny song lyrics please.... Some thoughts on love: Love is incredibly hard to define, because it is a very personal thing. Love grows, and changes over time.Love is making sacrifices, and measuring your own happiness in that of othersLove is sharing your soul Love makes you feel incredibly protective of those you loveLove is trustLove is giving someone else so much of yourself that you give them the power to hurt you Love is being sensitive to your loved one's feelingsLove is giving each other space to grow Theta_Orionis->RestoreCynicism
Emry
I agree with you completely Theta. Love is very difficult to describe because it is perceived and received differently by every person, and experienced differently as they grow and live and love and lose loved ones. Love is the giving of yourself to another, to trust, respect, and cherish over time; love changes as you change. Love is the sharing of dreams and hope (and conversely sorrows and disapointments) with someone because you can trust someone enough to be honest with them. Love is the driving force which allows a parent to fiercely protect their child from the dangers in the world and, at the same time, allows the parent to step back and watch their fledglings take flight and fly.... and sometimes fall..... Love is something that you cannot take for granted because without constant care it will wither and fade away. And finally.. Love is like oxygen..... you can't live without it. loveme4whoiam
Despite my previously cynical post, i agree with Emry. Love is being able to share your most personal feelings with someone else, because the trust is so strong. You support someone, help them, but at the same time they are doing the same for you. It can be hard at times to differentiate between love and lust (much personal experience went into finding this out, believe me :( ). Love is the "purer" of the two; its the one where you find yourself wanting to be with someone despite all their faults (being able to admit they have faults is part of the love/lust break); and even liking their faults because its part of who they are. I know that my explaination wasn't particularly articulate (or coherent, or substantial [shut up inner editor!]), but thats because the emotion "love" is just that; an emotion. Almost by definition they cannot be defined, escpeccialy (bad sp) this one. There, my non-cynical two cents.
