Is Nifskope even exporting meshes to work in Fallout 4 yet? Maybe I am just behind on my reading.

Import/Export is currently disabled in the Fallout 4 alpha version but you can use an extractor (BAE) and then open them, but all you can do is look at them. Nifskope for Fallout 4 is in early alpha still and they haven't even started updating Niftools yet.

I am just going to let the programmers do what they do best and I will work on doing more writing for the time being. Once the tools are ready, however, I will be up and running with new models in no time.

update: I've figured out how to texture the chicken, im using some chicken skin for the actuall skin. no feathers since its design is duduo/dutrio inspired. i think with what i've done, i should be boning it by tomorrow, it's slow because i have never done this before so please do bear with me.

so also can we post pictures on here, i would like to post my first draft when im done if possible

I published two mods here that use meshes from FNV and skyrim respectively. The porting flow is a bit inefficient and painful, but this can be done in seconds once nifskope is FO4 ready.

I'm not a fan of inefficient. I will just wait till all the Nif tools are up and running without any bugs.

Im sorry if it sucks, as i have said this is my first project, also my first 3d modelling, i used skin for the texture seeing as the wasteland would make it shed i feel. I need to fenegle the eyes, and i still need the legs to start animation testing, but i feel its coming along pretty well so far.

key word so far. what do you guys think? suggestions for it so far? do you like it?

You got it, i did mention thats what inspired its mutation above :tongue:

 

EDIT: Legs are hard! so ive gotten it to a point i like for the beak, eyes ish, and all that i shall now look at animating it. . . i hope its not too hard. . .

 

Edit. . . AGAIN: so i hit a snag in the fact that the skeleton i've made really does not want to move up and down. bones conected will move 360 degrees but when i want to see if it'll look good moving up and down (to make sure walking looks good) it just rotates, not up and down movement, I don't see anyone who's posted a solution to that yet on blender. Im looking on youtube to find a good answer. but this will slow me down.

 

 

I haven't even hit coding and im having this much problems XD

Edit: boning a chicken was harder than i anticipated, I figured out my mistake and why it didn't move up and down . . . i apparently cleared the wrong parent. . . yup i spet like seven hours trying to fix that. now boning the rest of it should be fast, i post a picture when im done or make a small video of it moving and post a link
