older version of NifSkope

this is a bit of an unusual request but does anyone still have the installer of an older version of NifSkope, by "older version" I mean a version that can properly handle UVs or whatever.

I basically made a custom meshes for a weapon along with the textures(normal, environement, and specular) they both work fine in mudbox and and maya but once imported to NifSkope the meshes load but the textures don't and a google search revealed that it is appearently coming from the newer versions of nifSkope not loading .obj properly. I couldn't find a download link on the internet so I am hoping one of you guys can upload it or if there is a way to manually fix NifSkope or something.

I'd appreciate that a lot. and thanks in advance

You could try here: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifTools And no, no one can upload a older version of NifSkope, it would be against the Terms of Service of this site.

Did you set texture path in NifSkope to use .obj files?

yes everything is set correctly as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/NJTTerj.png

and the textures are working (not sure about the .dds ones) but if photoshop plugin works correctly then they should work like their .png counterpart.

I didn't know that it goes against the rules of the site so I am sorry for requesting for that.

and if you import meshes to skyrim would you mind telling me what version are you using?

It says on the website itself "NifTools is an open source project" so I honestly doubt they care whether we share one of their older versions between ourselves or not.

I did this a few times in the past on these forums to help out people back when there were issues with the Nifskope website, and nobody ever gave me any taps on my wrist for it.

If your really that afraid of it, then just give each other your emails through a PM and send it privately.

You have lost me here as to what you are trying to do. In your original post you were talking about NifSkope not displaying .obj files correctly, but you say you have the texture paths set correctly. The texture paths in the image you supplied are pointing to .dds files, not .obj files.

Are you trying to display .obj files or .dds files? Also, the texture files need to be installed in the location where NifSkope is looking for them.

If the texture files weren't being displayed, the mesh would show as a featureless white shape.

I am using NifSkope 1.1.3 and I don't do anything with SkyRim.

The newer Nifskope versions from Version 1.1.0-rc7 on do not longer support the import of obj files as the UV is messed up.
The last Nifskope version that could handle obj import properly was Version 1.1.0-rc6 (from 02/2012 !)

Unfortunately the downloads of the old versions seem to have been removed on the Niftools site. I can send you version 1.1.0-rc6 via PM if you wish.

I'm (not) sorry to necro this thread. I would really appreciate the older version of NifSkope. I cannot create proper collisions or anything with all the meshes I created over the years. It's frustrating. (long story short; played on a friend's steam account while going through chemo, finally got my own copy. I love creating and the newest nifskope won't work)
