Forbid Mods on Console Platforms?

... I'm of the opinion that I picked my platform (PC) and they picked thiers (Console), so they should suck it up and pound sand ...

So you're saying that just for the fact they're not playing on a PC, they shouldn't be allowed to have mods? What kind of an unrightful elitist opinion is that anyway?

Maybe because he/she thinks it will limit mods? Let be real, if you want your mod on a console, it has to be limited.

And since when have modders let anything limit them? The people who release stuff for consoles will simply make a lower poly model with a smaller texture size version, and then bam! now they have a console version of their PC mod.

I learned to 3d model in the days when a character could only have 5,000 polygons and a 512 texture... I think I can handle making outfits and armor for an Xbox One.

And when it comes to story and dialogue... I don't think anything is keeping a Playstation 4 from having the same dialogue a PC is going to have...

I worry that Bethesda will not allow mods that are too 'adult', or that approach certain in-universe topics they want to preserve for future use. Say a new lands mod set on Nantucket if a Nantucket DLC is being discussed or one using a Vault concept from the Fallout sourcebooks that they intend to use elsewhere.

That said, if a modder wants to approach anything Bethesda limits they'll just release it exclusive for PC. I don't expect consoles getting mods to substantively affect the quality of PC mods. Certainly, I'm not preemptively insulting console players because of the fear that they might impact PC mods. I'm monumentally excited about bringing mods to consoles for the first time in a really meaningful way.

That's simply accusing someone of possibly doing something they have never done...

I meant textures and scripting guys.

Well, you have to say that if you want people to know what you meant. I haven't downloaded a texture mod or anything like that in my life. If it isn't a quest or somehow adds more story to my game, then it isn't a mod I spend my time downloading.

Not accusing anyone of anything. Saying its possible. I absolutely don't expect it would happen but I have considered the eventuality and what it would mean for the things I'm working on.
