simonizor
I know we're not supposed to discuss this, but that's not really what I'm doing. I would simply like to make a request that there be some sort of reason listed for the mod being taken down, especially if the file is hazardous to users. It's kind of disconcerting to see a mod that I've been using be put under moderator review with no explanation. Are files that potentially contain viruses put under moderator review? Is it just files that are using resources without proper permissions? Any explanation is appreciated.
Khormin
That would be nice, especially if you're someone who downloaded said mod - knowing there's a risk of infection != blaming the author.
lilkandeekid
Mods are checked and approved after being scanned when they are upload, so Id say its safe to assume that isnt it. Probably something related to copyright infringement of some sorts, as thats what tends to be popular.

Happened to one of my files, got flagged by the AV-software a few hours after it has been uploaded and at least 20 people have already downloaded it. In my case I am pretty confident that it is a false positive, but there could be other mods that contain real malicious code.
Lisnpuppy
If this was a file virus issue then they would spread the news as to the issue very quickly. Most likely it is a permissions issue, but you can send a note to the moderator if you are that worried and ask if it is a virus issue or not. They could at least set your mind at ease to that I would think. That way it isn't scaring folks in the open forum and you get an answer.
matzman666
The automatically generated message clearly says that it is a malware issue, also 4 out of 55 engines on virustotal flag my file as malware (My file was generated with PyInstaller which has a long history of generating false positives with AV-software). I tried to resolve the issue with the mods, but I haven't receive anything from the mods yet.
