Constant CTDs. At my wits end.

I've been trying to get the perfect balance between visual and gameplay mods. I had found it last summer, but since deleted that accidentally.

 

I've been trying for months to get a stable Oblivion but it just keeps crahsing. I cleanred them with tes edit, ran loot, Boss, deleted the ini, the like, and yet I can't get it to stay right. About a week ago it seemed perfectly stable but that's chnaged.

Any help?

You said it was working a week ago. Something must have changed in your load order or you added more mods since then. I don't think it's possible to suddenly stop working unless something changed one way or another. Find out what that is and you can probably fix it.

Alright, first of all, I admit that I didn't look at every single mod in your load order. I will mention, however, that I've had trouble with Get Wet causing CTDs before. Might have been something on my end, though, so take that with a grain of salt. I have more important suggestions than that. I recently reinstalled Oblivion with OOO, OCR, Unique Landscapes, Deadly Reflex, etc., etc. It's a fairly large install, although a lot more streamlined compared to what I usually do. Anyway, to cut to the chase, I was getting CTDs, even though I really shouldn't have been. The following has helped me out immensely:

 

Firstly, I recommend making the following teaks (if you have a multi-core CPU) to your Oblivion.ini if you haven't already:

 

bUseThreadedBlood=1
bUseThreadedMorpher=1 
bUseThreadedTempEffects=1
bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1
bUseBackgroundPathing=1
bUseBackgroundFileLoader=1
iNumHavokThreads=3

Second, I recommend getting Oblivion Reloaded. It's Purger is very useful for performance/CTD reduction, and the graphical options are nice to (grab this mod to go with it... purely aesthetic, mind you, but if you manage to get your game running smoothly check it out).

Thirdly, I didn't notice Oblivion Stutter Remover on that list (possible I overlooked it). Get it. There's some very useful tweaks you need to make in the .ini file that will help immensely. Unfortunately, I can't remember what they are specifically, as I had to do some digging to find them myself. If you PM me, though, I'd be happy to send you my OSR .ini file that you can use.

And finally:

MoreHeap

This more than anything else has helped reduce my CTDs to being practically nonexistent (or maybe it's this in combination with the above? In any case, I can remember only one time in the past two weeks I've have a CTD).

In any case, get it, and change your .ini file (there's only like, two settings) to the following:

Do all of that, play for a few hours, and see if you have any reduction in CTDs and let me know how it goes (be sure to PM for that OSR .ini file). If none of this helps, we can try taking a closer look at your Load Order.

I do use OSR. I tried to use Oblivion reloaded but get massive stuttering whenever it's installed, which is weird since it worked about a month ago. Probably the update.

 

Anyway, I wiped everything and did a complete reinstall. So far everything is working good. ( Currently using OOO, MMM, Maskar, WAC with compatibility patches, HGEC, RObert's, Deadly Reflex, Animated WIndows, Darkdarn, See You Sleep, etc. No performance loss, no crashing ( THough I did only play for 10 minutes, but before it was crashing after like 6 minutes of play.

 

Anyway, when I get more time ( I have finals in a few days so that won't be possible) I'll try your advice. I'll also post my OSR settings later.

I truly doubt you are going to enjoy a stable experience. Would you mind publishing again your load order? There are evident issues in the first post load order, and they are so many that a reinstall is the thing I would have suggested you.
