LordSarcasm Posted December 14, 2015 Share Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) As I understand it, modders are incredibly limited in what they can create right now without the GECK, but you know what's really killing me? Vertibrids. Just vertbirds. Well okay there are a couple of other things too but it's really glaring how pathetic the gunships are. I have seen only a couple of vertibirds survive a pitched battle with the enemy. Most of the time the raiders, gunners, mutants or what have you blow it out of the sky with sustained fire. That's not even getting into the disappointment of riding them. The NPC vertibirds at least have a combat mode where they circle the battlefield and then blow up. But when ou climb into one it can only fly you in a straight line making the minigun pointless. So here's what this mod should contain. 1. A health buff to all vertibird gunships. 2. A way to order you pilot to circle the battlefield allowing you to fight the enemy for real. Or at least the pilot refusesto land until all enemies have been eliminated, giving a reason to call in air cavalry support in the first place. I could possibly mod the first requirement myself, if somebody pointed me in the right direction to start modding, but I'm not sure I could change the AI. (By raiders of all people!) This mod covers the first, but I'm fairly certain that the second'll need scripting which is only avaiable through the GECK. Enubis Posted December 14, 2015 Share Posted December 14, 2015 The problem with the Vertibird isn't exactly a health issue imo. Look it flies, it's not meant to be a flying tank. Taking the shots it took to be taken down is entirely plausible. The problem with the vertibird lies with the stupid limitations it has, for one a railshooter and for two, how terribly underequipped it is.Really a side mount minigun is nothing. Raiders have mini nukes, missile launchers and all that! So on a realism level, either tone down the ground unit weaponry or severely increase the firepower of a vertibird, miniguns aren't a huge deal, they really aren't. especially when you can only fire from ONE side. Edit: Also, miniguns are a joke, flying or otherwise. Automatic combat rifles have better damage output. Hell, auto pipe rifle might outdamage it, upgraded.
