#ObsidianFallout - increase the following

Well, Black Isle didn't sell anything. It was the parent company, Interplay, that sold Fallout precisely because they were on a choo-choo train to bankruptcy and fast. Part of the reason being that they were pouring more money than they had into making a Fallout MMO. And they were so broke that they basically mortgaged even that to Bethesda, as in, if they're not done in IIRC two years (but I could be wrong about the exact time), Beth gets even the rights to that.

Which, in the meantime, yeah, Beth has those rights too.

i feel beth s in truth running the game with s#*! plots. by far i think this is the worst. even with a voiced player it makes the story options to limited and it dont matter what u pick u still get the same out come nmw when it comes to talk to peeps.

Will never happen if BGS (Bethesda Game Studios) have any say in the decision. I can't see anything from New Vegas as canon lore in Fallout 4. I could be wrong, but have seen nothing to show that New Vegas even happened, in the BGS Fallout universe.

Honestly I doubt Obsidian would even want to make a New Vegas sequel. Better to make their own world, under their control.

As for the idea Obsidian is somehow Black Isle, that's no more true than it is to say inXile is Black Isle. Neither of them are and I think most would call inXile's Wasteland 2 the spiritual successor to Fallout 2, rather than New Vegas.

I disagree completely, that another Obsidian Fallout is a good idea for Obsidian or Gamers.

I'd be much more interested in a new post apocalyptic world, where Obsidian are in full creative control, not subject to any publishers control.

Indeed the only reason I would crowdfund a project is to give the devs full control of the development. They must be fully crowdfunded for that to happen. I don't want to make money from backing a game, I want the game. A fully crowdfunded game isn't required to sell a single copy, to satisfy investors.

Good games will sell millions of copies, of course, but I don't care if it sells or not, I already have the good game anyway.

My usual caveat applies, Crowdfunding is very risky, game development is very risky. Your money is gone with no guarantee of getting a good game.

The devs are not legally forced to make a game, good or bad.

They can only be expected to try their best.

So only back with money you can lose, all investment is gambling.

A fully crowdfunded Obsidian new post apocalyptic world, made without the interference of any publisher, is what I would support.

A BS (Bethesda Softworks) controlled, rushed Fallout, holds little interest for me, other than a new modding sandbox.

Frankly, New Vegas came out way too soon, for a new modding platform. The 4 years of exclusive Skyrim modding produced much better mods than Fallout 3 managed.

Nothing about this idea appeals to me, mods are my focus and take time to evolve, into the golden era of the 3rd year onwards.

Of course a few soldier on with the old platform, especially the full conversions, which take many years, but the vast majority move to the new platform, immediately.

I agree. It better to make their own games with their own rules, it better for everyone.
