Moraelin
Well, that's more or less how I use the silver plated receivers too. There's a reason why I gave it a 10 round burst in VATS and the extra effects  I suppose it's not fair to bring that up, since it's not a vanilla receiver, but I guess it kinda illustrates one point: if your favourite kinda weapon doesn't perform all that great in vanilla, we got mods
robhartman9
I was trying for the peaceful ending. Your supposed to go to the institute and get yourself banished. Well that's anything but peaceful. I don't know if I did that right or if your just supposed to forget about Virgil. As I understood it my goal was to murder somebody and retrieve the serum for Virgil before I loose the chance to return. As an afterthought not necessarily in that order. I must say the institute put up one hell of a fight I even had to use a few stimpacks. I forced them to come at me through choke points and was using the piles of dead bodies for cover like a Spartan warrior. I burned through 4-5 fusion cores and came close to being overrun while reloading a couple of times. Psychotic episode aside that was great fun and highly recommend it. Whatever weapon you choose bring lots of ammo
Moraelin
As I said in the other fellow's thread, it sounds like you were following that super-restrictive walkthrough that was posted here. And it works, don't get me wrong. But it's slightly more restrictive than absolutely needed. Might want to try googling for the "Nuclear Option (Minutemen)" and look at the Wiki for that. Edit: but yeah, that's the kind of times when I'd rather have high damage per second, than damage per bullet. Sure, it wastes more ammo than a bolt action sniper rifle or the revolver, but I'd still rather they die before I do  Edited February 17, 2016 by Moraelin
TheOriginalEvilD
Dang, now you're seriously making me want to pull me ol' NV stunt of making a shotgun minigun  Should be the best of both worlds, right? :tongue:Let me see if I follow you....are you saying a minigun....that fires a shotgun shell for each round? So basically a spray of a spray of pellets? I order you to make this mod immediately. Why are you still reading this? GO FORTH AND MOD.
Moraelin
Well, that's exactly what the CZ-75 Obliterator was, really. Put 1500x7=10500 pellets per minute into the air  http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/130/images/60108-4-1439216263.jpg
Aterr
Suppressed Legendary "Spray n' Pray" .45 Tommy Gun (15 Explosive AOE Damage each round) Watch Death Claws, Mirelurks and Behemoths melt in front of you! Even the most Evil Legendary Death Claw never laid a claw on me... and No, I didn't use VATS, I love my Gauss Rifles for range, but this thing is just AWESOME! Brotherhood Power Armor is no match for this beast. I just use Burst Fire of 3-5 rounds at a time, to conserve ammo. This thing is what Auto is about :nuke: More: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Spray_n'_Pray

If we can do that and make all those pellets have the explosive legendary...oh my lol. It'll be like firing a Fatman, but it'll be so fun.
Gruffydd
Yer not missing a thing.Fully-specced gauss rifle with VATS enhancement legendary.Perks to back it up.Headshot bug fixed, so no cheating. One shot, one kill.Biggest big bads? Two, maybe three shots at most. There's something fun about watching the Mythic Deathclaw's head explode when it hasn't even had a chance to activate yet.Ammo's not a problem. I've got level 3 gun shops in every settlement, pulling in caps for me and selling a bunch of gauss ammo every time I pass through. Since I use so little ammo per kill, I end up accumulating more ammo than I use. I can sell most of the other ammo I find for mounds of extra caps. robhartman9
I wound up with another sentinel and just for a laugh decided to play the silver shroud in character. My 4th PC Leeloo is lev 73 so I maxed out the gear as best I could on the workbench for Piper and my PC. Its not Shadowed power armor and a gatling laser but still good fun. While in Goodneighbor I stopped to see Magnolia, Piper was pretty funny in that dialog. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=638006644
Aterr
Everyone talking about recoil... it is not as exaggerated IRL as it is in many games. As a Military Policeman I had the opportunity to fire many different weapons. I did not every like any of the M16 variants, save the A2 and GAU A2. each had the 3 round burst select instead of full auto. Just aim at the Right hip and you put a round there, one near center mass and one in the left chest/shoulder area at 50 yards. The worse were the MAC 10 & 11's they would walk with you if you did not have a suppressor or handle. They used far too much ammo as well. Back 3 weekends ago I had the wonderful opportunity to fire an AA12 by Military Police Systems, Inc., Piney Flats, Tennessee. The owner of a local range allowed me to fire his, for the cost of ammo. (it wasn't cheap, but I could not pass up the opportunity) At 75 yards and 3-5 round bursts I never missed or felt out control of the weapon. I just cannot afford it, the FFL 3 License or the huge ammo consumption. In any case... I'd really love to have one. There are several videos on YouTube showing people firing the AA12, one of my favorites is by this young Russian Man here. Now, I'd like to see one of these in game.
